OUR LADY OF LOURDES SCHOOL T3 W9
TE KURA O TO MATOU WAHINE O RUATA
HELLO, KIA ORA, KIA ORĀNA, MĀLŌ E LELEI, TALOFA, NAMASTE, KUMUSTA...
Nai mai, haere mai, welcome to Week 9. Many of you would have watched the Queen's funeral last night and reflected on the 70 years on her loyal service and love of her family. In the words of Ernest Sands...
May the choirs of angels come to greet you.
May they speed you to paradise.
May the Lord enfold you in His mercy.
May you find eternal life.
We have less than two weeks before the Term 3 holidays and they are busy weeks. A reminder that next Monday September 26th the SCHOOL WILL BE CLOSED in honour of Queen Elizabeth.
A HEALTH UPDATE
We hope this newsletter finds you all well. As mentioned in our newsletter last week we truly thank you for your support in regards to keeping our school and those in it's care well and safe. We look forward to seeing you all again in and around the school areas before and after school.
HUB, HERO and HEALTH
Last week, our Junior Hub welcomed parents and families into their classrooms and shared our Health Curriculum and clarity around our HERO App which will be used more in the future.
We know we have many Apps up and running at the moment. We currently have SEESAW as this was our main source of communication when we needed to communicate with children and parents. We use SCHOOL APPS as well which links our website and facebook notices through this platform.
NEXT YEAR, the HERO APP will be our main way of communicating with you so please make sure you are linked into this. Your child's end of year report will be sent through to you using HERO. We are all here to support you so please call in and see your child's teacher if you need any further support to get this app up and running.
Our wonderful Middle and Senior Hub will be host an evening for families on TUESDAY 18th OCTOBER at 5.30pm. If your child is in Room 4,5,6 or 8 then note this date.
You will have the chance to look around classrooms, your child can share their learning and then the teachers will talk to you about their programmes for Term 4, the Health Curriculum and how to use the HERO app effectively.

FUNDRAISING #2 - PIE DRIVE
Wow, we have been really excited to see all the orders coming in. Thank you so much for your support. It looks as if we have approximately 800 pie orders which is amazing. The orders have now closed as we need to place the final totals with Doughboys.
The pies will arrive on Thursday 29th September and we then need to complete the giving out of orders correctly - this will be a big job to make sure we get it right.
If you can spare some time next THURSDAY to compile the orders that would be greatly appreciated. We hope to set this up in the hall.
We need help with the following:
- Help on the day to make up the orders (time to be confirmed)
- If you have spare supermarket bags can you drop these off to the office for placing pie orders in
- All orders to be collected from the hall by 3pm - we do not have the capacity to refrigerate or freeze these so please make sure someone from your family is able to collect orders from 2pm onwards.
Please phone or email the school office if you are able to lend a hand.
