By being a Coastal Geologist, you have the responsiblitly to put an end to coastal pollution, and research about natural disasters involving the ocean. You must also come up ways to protect citizens from tsunamis, and hurricanes, by making houses that are more suitable to with stand natural disasters.

Bathymetric Map
A bathymetric map is what coastal geologist use to determine the depth of the ocean. The picture above is what a bathymetric map result when it is finished calculating to depth of the ocean.
Seismometer
A seismometer is a tool that uses sound to help determine what the earths' crust looks like in the water
Side-Scan Sonar
A Side-Scan Sonar is used to get an image of the ocean seafloor.
