A Note from Dr. Miles,
Good morning Parents and Guardians!
THANK YOU to EVERYONE who was able to come out and support our BINGO Night PTO fundraiser! I was told it was a full house and great event, AGAIN! I'm sorry I was unable to spend the evening with you; I truly missed it. However, a BIG SHOUT OUT goes to AMIE WATTS for filling in for me as the bingo caller. I understand she did an awesome job and I am glad everyone who participated had a great time.
Next Wednesday, April 24th all students in grades 3-5 at KH will be taking Coatesville Area PSSA. Our schedule for taking these assessments is listed below. Included with this letter are Frequently Asked Questions, Code of Conduct for Test Takers, Calculator Policy, and Guidelines for Electronic Devices as well as a letter from the Coatesville Area School District regarding PSSAs with changes to the opt-out procedures. Please review this information, and if you have questions about the PSSA assessments or the rules governing them, contact me at 610-383-3775.
- English Language Arts: April 24nd, April 25th, and April 26th
- Math: April 30th and May 1st
- Science (4th Grade Only): May 2nd and May 3rd
We would like to encourage ALL of our students to perform to their very best on these state assessments and we need your help. For students to perform well, I ask that they be well rested, eat a healthy breakfast, and be at school on time during the days of testing. Thank you for supporting your child’s achievement and growth!
ABSENCES: YOUR CHILD'S PRESENCE IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO US!
Parents please be advised that when your child is absent from school, you MUST have a note explaining their absence when they return. You have three days to have the note into the office. If a note is not received in that time, it becomes an ILLEGAL/UNLAWFUL absence. You may send the note directly to the attendance secretary Ms. Kenisha Archey-Cole at archeycolek@casdschools.org. Sending notes with your child may not be received as they may forget to give them to their teacher.
Thank you,
Dr. Miles
