Morning Trainings Start in September
Just a quick reminder that morning JOT and Playground sessions will be starting in September. Which means no training next week, but the following week. Below are the dates of the first meeting in each building.
Wolf Lake 9/5
JR High 9/7
AE 9/12
SR High 9/14
CN Tech Fellowship Program
This will be the final reminder for the program! I know a few of you have indicated interest, so be sure to complete the application if you have yet to do so. There are still a few available slots. I have yet to receive any applications from AE or the SR High. If there is something holding you back from applying, we may be able to work out a solution! If you have any questions, I'm happy to address them. As before, the graphic below has specific information regarding the fellowship.

I will accept applications until Friday, September 1. Meetings will start the following week.
Robotics
So many students are interested in robotics! I had to narrow down the roughly 40 applications to 8 students. I had only planned on a 6 student team, but increased the team size due to interest. I think this is a powerful indication of how much students are craving hands-on, STEAM activities in your classroom. Simply setting a plastic robot in the room set off an explosion of interest. I see the same curiosity with the JR High students in my Cougar U. They see me holding the remote, the robot, or even organizing the little plastic pieces and I get questions. Plus, 4 new kits came in for everyone to use! I'm really excited for this new resource and so are students.
Elementary Tech Team Application
The past two weeks, students from last year's teams have been creating a series of tasks for future members to complete. The goal was to launch the application this week, but without the use of iPads that does not make as much sense. As soon as I catch wind that iPads have been okayed for use, 4th and 5th grade students will see the new tech team canvas course appear. 4th and 5th grade teachers will receive an email when the application has officially launched.
JR/SR High Filming
Filming has nearly wrapped up! I hope to have the video completed by early next week. I really enjoyed working with all of you, and witnessing your creative ideas. The process has been fast paced, but I owe everyone a big thanks for how smoothly it went.
