GIS Peer to Peer Mentoring Program
WE ARE VERY EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THE PEER TO PEER MENTORING PROGRAM FOR THE SPRING 2020 SEMESTER!
If you are interested in becoming a mentee or mentor, please complete the respective application form below by Wednesday, February 12th, 2020 at 12:00 PM. Please pay close attention to the program requirements as these will all be necessary for successful completion of the program. You do not need to be a dues paid member to participate! However, you must be dues paid to attend Gamma Gala.
Mission:
To unite underclassmen students majoring in Actuarial Science and Risk Management & Insurance with experienced upperclassmen students to create relationships and provide guidance and advice so students can make the most of their time in the RIHM department
Qualifications:
Criteria for Eligibility of Mentees:
- Currently a Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior majoring in AS/RMI and enrolled in courses at Temple University
- No AS/RMI internship experience
Criteria for Eligibility of Mentors:
Actuarial Science
- Currently a Junior, Senior, or Masters Student majoring in AS and enrolled in courses at Temple University
- Must have attended a minimum of 9 Wednesday Meetings in the Fall 2019 semester
- Must have completed AS 2101 and AS 2502 or AS 5101
- Must possess relevant internship experience
Risk Management & Insurance
- Currently a Junior or Senior majoring in RMI and enrolled in courses at Temple University
- Must have attended a minimum of 9 Wednesday Meetings in the Fall 2019 semester
- Must have completed RMI 3501 and RMI 3502
- Must possess relevant internship experience
Expectations and Obligations:
Obligations of Mentees:
- Meet with assigned mentor for a minimum of three in-person meetings by Wednesday, April 22nd, 2020
- Participate in the Check-In updates with a Career Development Officer
- Complete end-of-program Exit Interview form (additional surveys and feedback may be required throughout the semester to ensure that this program is going well)
- Mentees are encouraged to attend the annual Gamma Gala at the end of the Spring Semester to be recognized for their participation in this program
Obligations of Mentors:
- Meet with assigned mentee(s) for a minimum of three in-person meetings by Wednesday, April 22nd, 2020
