Better Together
Remote Learning Edition, Week 2: 4/5 - 4/12
Text Summary of the Video for the Hearing Impaired
Greetings Wilson students and families!
Thank you for all of your hard work this week as we learn new ways to communicate with each other and support each student's success. This week's newsletter is full of resources for families and announcements for students.
First, like every week, students you will need to log in to Moodle and check each class' page. Then, we suggest making a plan for the week. We've included some ideas from other families and resources for you if you realized you may need some support in how to plan for the week.
Just like last week, you may also want some support and feedback from your teacher along the way. Week 2's tutorial schedule is also posted in the newsletter for you, including teacher availability, contact emails, and Moodle pages. The times for some teachers may have changed since last week because, like you, they are also adjusting to find the routines that best work for their households for remote learning.
When you scroll down in the newsletter, you'll also find other announcements and resources. We have some virtual clubs forming and online auditions for several extracurricular activities for next year. You will also find links to community resources, both within NISD and other non-profits who are supporting our communities and families.
You guys are doing fantastic, and I've loved hearing stories of how you've connected and adapted to make the most of this learning experience. Our campus staff is here for you, so please reach out as needs emerge or as you have successes and shout outs you'd like to share about our staff! We are here for you, so let's log in to Moodle, make a plan, and get Week 2 started with success.
Our attitude is what we make it.
Our character is above reproach
And we put our best effort in everything we do
Have a great day living the Wildcat Way
We truly are better together.

Service Opportunity
My name is Abby McCutchan and I'm a junior at Eaton High School. Currently, I'm trying to organize a volunteer campaign and I was wondering if you could help me. With the outbreak of COVID-19, families are not permitted to see their family members that reside in nursing homes in order to prevent the spread of the virus. While these measures are necessary to protect Texas citizens from contracting the coronavirus, the protections put a severe emotional strain on nursing home residents and their families. I'm attempting to put together a letter writing campaign to help remind these residents that they're loved and supported during what may be a dark time for them.
I believe this campaign would be extremely beneficial for Wilson students, allowing them to be creative while encouraging them to continue to write and do good for others while they're not in school.
If anyone has any additional questions, they can email me at abigail.mccutchan@student.nisdtx.org and I'd be happy to answer them.
How can I stay current with Wilson Info?
We send out a Wilson MS email every Sunday during remote learning. Be sure to note "wilsonms@nisdtx.org" as an approved sender to avoid any emails being sent to SPAM folders.
Other ways to stay in the loop are to follow us on social media via Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter: @TruettWilsonMS
Text messages and emails are sent to the contact information you provide in online registration, but if there are ever changes, please alert our registrar Ms. Jeffers at tjeffers@nisdtx.org. We don't want you to miss a thing!
Thank YOU for staying up to date on campus activities and the Wildcat Way! With such an active community, it benefits the students when we are all on the same page!
