Principal's Report
A Weekly Update from Perkiomen Valley Middle School East
A Word From Dr. Clune
It has been a challenging week without bus transportation. Thank you to all of our parents for your patience, perseverance and understanding. We are committed to making both virtual and 'in person' learning a successful experience for every child.
We had a number of activities on Wednesday for 'World Read Aloud Day' including a message from author Will Wyckoff regarding his novel, Rabbit Trails. I have shared the video below for you to watch.
Our cafeteria seating policy has changed. We are permitting students to choose their own seat. However, once a student chooses a seat, they must remain in that same seat for the entire lunch period. So far the change has been successful and is appreciated by our students.
Please check ParentVue to confirm that your child's instructional model is accurate. If it is not correct, please email Nicole DePalma, our counseling secretary at ndepalma@pvsd.org
As always, do not hesitate to contact the counseling center or main office if you have any questions or concerns.

Winter Sports
Spectator policy for middle school sporting events: For basketball, one parent for each athlete will be allowed to attend the games. The gymnasium will need to be cleared of all fans between games. The team not playing will not be allowed in the gym during the game. For wrestling, one parent for each athlete will be allowed to attend the matches.
Rock Star of the Month
As part of PBIS we are launching ‘Rock Star of the Month’. Each team will select a student every month who best exemplifies the values of being Respectful, Own It, Careful, and Kind. Students will be recognized at the end of each month with a new ‘East Rocks’ t-shirt and a certificate.
ID Badges
If your child is coming back to school for the first time this year, their ID card will be in the main office. All students need to wear their ID Badge every day that they are in school.
Library News
In addition to accessing thousands of ebooks and audiobooks, our students are able to check out print books from the library. They may stop by the library individually to select a book or below is a document with detailed instructions for how to reserve one through our online catalog. Once the library staff receives a HOLD request, they will email the student (and the homeroom teacher) to notify them that their book is ready to be picked up in the library. Recently, many new awesome books have been added to our library collection...please remind your students to take advantage of this!! LMK if you have any questions.
Virtual Makerspace Is Now OPEN!
We are pleased to announce the start of a virtual makerspace monthly challenge. Do you like to invent or create? Are you ready for a design challenge? PV East is partnering with FLUX, to offer a monthly STEAM challenge for our students. All directions for the challenge are found in the link below. You may use the student guide available on the link to help you organize, if you wish. All we require from you is the final video that explains your invention and the problem it solves. Videos must be uploaded to the PV East STEAM Challenge Google Classroom by the last day of each month. Join the classroom using the code, 372x3q4. ENJOY!!!!!

Medications: If your child has been diagnosed with a life-threatening allergy, seizures or asthma and requires emergency medication, please be sure to bring the medication to school with the appropriate forms completed by the physician. Forms can be found on the PV website.
