Administrative Professionals Day 2024
A huge shout out to our AMAZING RHMS principal's secretary, Mrs. Elsa Sandoval in recognition of Administrative Professionals Day 2024. Mrs. Sandoval goes above and beyond the call of duty to assist administration, teachers, staff, parents, and our students. Thank you for all you do throughout the year. You are truly appreciated!
Mental Health Presentation
Our RHMS Communities In Schools Coordinator, Mrs. Cindy Garcia, in collaboration with Behavioral Health Solutions extended an invitation to RHMS parents for a Mental Health Awareness presentation. The presentation was held on Thursday, April 25, 2024 in the RHMS Library. Our attendees received valuable information about stress indicators and how to positively cope with stressful situations in their daily lives.
Mayor Olivares Visits RHMS
Rio Hondo Mayor Gustavo "Gus" Olivares and City Administrator, Ben Medina visited RHMS to speak to students about the opportunity to participate in naming the Boat Ramp Park on Harris Street. Students were asked to research names of plants, flowers, or fish that are native to Rio Hondo. Deadline to submit recommendations is May 17, 2024. The two classes that were provided the opportunity to participate were Mrs. Davila's 1st period Social Studies class and Ms. Laurie Rodriguez's 1st period Reading Language Arts Class. RHMS students will be competing against students from Rio Hondo Elementary as well as Rio Hondo P-TECH.

#ThoughtForTheDay..."It doesn't cost a single penny to reach out and greet someone with a friendly smile, lift a spirit with a sincere compliment, support others with a heartfelt note, or jolt those who are in a bad place with a blast of positive energy to get them through the day." @casas_jimmy
"Being a great teacher...is about your capacity and willingness to learn along with your students. Your belief in yourself is most important and if you have that, then you will find a way." @BrandonBeckEDU
