UPCOMING EVENTS
SUPERINTENDENT PATRICK JENKINS
Each day of our life is a special day. It is a gift. The freedom of choice gives us the unique privilege to make our lives anything we want it to be. We can choose to stay stuck and bitter in the past or inspired and optimistic about the opportunities that await us in the present moment. What we do with every precious new day and how we utilize our 86,400 seconds is our choice. Understand if you are not planning your own future, you will become part of someone else's plan for the future. No matter the uncertainty, always keep moving forward to discover or rediscover your future. It will not come looking for you.

Flu Information
I sent information regarding the flu on February 9, 2019, to all the principals, nurses, and school board administration. You will find that this information will be useful to your staff and parents as well as to your students. Please see below. I have been in touch with the Epidemiologist at the Regional IV Office of public health.
Recommendations are as follow:
- Good hand washing skills (using soap and water not hand sanitizer constantly)
- Cough in your sleeve
- Throw tissue in waste basket after using it to blow you nose and wash your hands
- If a student or staff member, has the fever (101) they are to stay home until fever free without the use of any fever reducing medications.
- If a student or staff member is positive for the flu, they must stay out according to the recommending days the doctor wants them stay out and of course fever free….
- Teachers, janitors, and staff members should wipe the desk tops, door handles,
Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects that are touched often
Follow your school’s standard procedures for routine cleaning and disinfecting. Typically, this means daily sanitizing surfaces and objects that are touched often, such as desks, countertops, doorknobs, computer keyboards, hands-on learning items, faucet handles, phones, and toys. Some schools may also require daily disinfecting these items. Standard procedures often call for disinfecting specific areas of the school, like bathrooms. (CDC, 2018)
