Dear teachers, it's budget time! I have asked department chairs to survey the departments to consider needs in various areas of the budget (for next year). The following are the areas and the principal writing those requests. The chairs will put your ideas together and send them to the specific principal by next Friday. Congratulations to Brian Seadorf on being named VIP Murfreesboro Magazine's "January Educator of the Month"! You can see the write-up on page 28 of the digital magazine at http://digital.turn-page.com/i/441782/27 (Incidentally, Brian's wife, Malinda Upton-Seadorf, was named Smyrna Middle's Teacher of the Year yesterday, so they are a bona fidefamily of great educators!)

Technology Minute
Did you know that we now have an additional, open computer lab available in C06? Many thanks to Mr. Childs for changing classrooms so that this would be possible. Many thanks to Mr. Mosier and his students for setting up the computers. The lab currently has 25 computers and more will be added later. Reserve the lab in the same way that you reserve G20 and G21.—Check the calendar online by going to the BHS website > Faculty (toward the bottom right) > Computer Lab Calendars. Then, email Holly the dates and class periods that you would like to use the lab.

Rutherford County College Fair
First Baptist Church would like to cordially invite students to participant in the 1st Annual College Fair. The date set is for January 24, 2015, 10AM until 2PM, at Patterson Park Recreation Center.
It is of great concern that many Rutherford County students have not been introduced to the process of applying to College. With our states “Tennessee Promise Program”, many youth will now be looking to use this opportunity to attend Community Colleges, but there is a need for the students to understand about four year Colleges, University and other Technical Institutions.
We are inviting every high school student in the Rutherford County area to
attend. Our main focus is helping students understand their opportunity to attend college and resources that are available to them.
There will be a financial aid workshop and tips on how to complete college
applications and apply for scholarships.
We know that education is essential for continued success and we hope to help all that strive for excellence. Please help us in our efforts to lead our youth in a positive direction.
Thank you in advance for your much needed participation!
