Self Care is particularly important this time of year. On Thursday, we will be completing our final Mission and Vision for the students but before then, I need you to exercise self care. Let's discuss in further detail on Thursday morning.
Updates from Rodney:
Notes:
- Interim reports go home on Tuesday.
- Math SLO Mid-Point Assessments will take place this week. Please meet with your coach after you update your data sheet.
- Please read the definition of bias behavior at the bottom of the newsletter. Use this definition as a opportunity to self-reflect and inform Karyn or I if any students have demonstrated any bias behavior.
- All means ALL at BPES
Instructional Thoughts:
- Look for ways to connect your math lesson to careers or personal experiences. For example, in math consider discussions or videos about careers in engineering or science. The noise level in the hallways has been too high. Keep your behavior expectations high. Additionally, monitor your line and ensure you see ALL kids.
- Continue to monitor your instruction. Teachers should not be sitting down or checking emails during instruction. I have no problem if you are using the document camera to model instruction but you should be up and around monitoring student work, assessing their progress, and making instructional changes as needed.
Guided Reading Data - Glows and Grow
9/9 teachers has Think Job posted and referred to it before and after reading
8/9 teachers assigned related tasks that used technology
6/9 teachers had differentiated related tasks
Glows: High Student Engagement
- Evidence of conferring with students and collecting data
Grow:
- Related tasks should be differentiated
There has been so much growth in our guided reading! Thank you for all that you are doing for our students.
Our Walk Through focus this week is going to be Math.
