Women's History Month
March is Women's History Month. Each year, we highlight and celebrate the contributions of women in history. This month we read books about an athlete, mathematicians, a botanist, a former first lady, and the founder of the Girl Scouts, each with their own inspiring story.
Ramadan
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. This year it will be observed from March 22nd to April 21st. Celebrated by Muslims, Ramadan is a time for community, fasting, reflection, and prayer.
Read Across America
During Read Across America Week, students read a variety of books from different genres, including One Proud Penny. They learned where pennies are made, what they were made out of in the past, and what they are made out of today. By reading this narrative nonfiction book, students learned facts about the penny while being entertained by the story of the traveling coin.
Digital Citizenship
Safety in my Online Neighborhood
Kindergarten students discovered that the internet can be used to visit faraway places and learn new things. We compared how staying safe online is similar to staying safe in the real world.

How Technology Makes You Feel
1st graders used the Mood Meter to recognize different kinds of feelings they can have when using technology. They also learned what to do when they don't have a good feeling.

Who Is In Your Online Community?
2nd graders compared and contrasted how they are connected to people, in person and on the internet and developed an understanding of different ways people can connect online.

Password Power Up
3rd graders learned why a strong password is important and practiced creating a memorable and strong password.

4th graders learned the difference between information that is personal and private and what is best left private for online safety.

5th graders identified define gender stereotypes and how they can possibly lead to unfairness or bias online.
