From Your Pastors
Dear Zion family –
This weekend, we’ll be celebrating Zion’s longstanding partnership with Mission Liberty Hill, which began, with Zion’s support, in October 2009 and is now a strong worshipping body just a little to our west. Mission Liberty Hill will be offering a special presentation on their congregation at 9:30 am in our sanctuary. Join us then to hear more about what’s happening with our brothers and sisters in Christ.
In worship, we continue our series called “That’s a Great Question” where, during the season of Lent, we’re considering some of the questions Jesus asks in the Gospels. This weekend, we’ll look at a question He asks in Matthew 11:11-19:
“Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet whoever is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subjected to violence, and violent people have been raiding it. For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John. And if you are willing to accept it, he is the Elijah who was to come. Whoever has ears, let them hear. To what can I compare this generation? They are like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling out to others: ‘We played the pipe for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.’ For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’ The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ But wisdom is proved right by her deeds.”
When Jesus asks, “To what can I compare this generation,” He invites us to consider the struggles of His generation as we wrestle with the struggles of our generation. Yet, no matter how many struggles we face in any generation, Jesus is there for every generation, offering hope. Learn more about the hope every generation has this Sunday in worship. We worship at 8 am in our beautiful historic sanctuary, at 10:45 am in our wonderful worship center, or online at zionwalburg.org. And don’t forget, during the season of Lent, we also have short, 30-minute devotional services on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm in our sanctuary. We’ll see you in worship.
Your pastors love you!
– Pastor Zach, Pastor Kevin & Pastor Kyle

Global Leadership Summit
Are you a local leader who wants to sharpen your leadership skills? Zion is considering being a video host site for the Global Leadership Summit, which is a Christian-based leadership event now in its 29th year, on August 8 and 9. Speakers include Pastor Craig Groeschel, Joni Eareckson Tada, and Coach Mike Krzyzewski. Early bird tickets are $179 per person. You can learn more about the Summit by clicking here. To help us gauge interest and decide whether we will be a video host site for the Summit, please email Heather Ullmann at church@zionwalburg.org by March 13 and let us know if you’d purchase a ticket to attend if we video-hosted the Summit at Zion!
Laundry Love
Zion’s community outreach, Laundry Love, was held on April 29th. 8 people were very surprised, and thankful, that our church was funding the cost of washing and drying their clothing. We served 55 family units and they laundered about 6,700 lbs. of clothing and bedding. While assisting them, there is the opportunity to get to know them. Thank you to our wonderful Zion volunteers and to our mission board for supporting this outreach.
If interested in serving contact: Gail Gajewski. gailgaj@aol.com.

Staff Member Retirement
Dear Zion family,
This past week at our Board of Trustees meeting, Stanley Bielss announced that, after twelve years of serving faithfully at Zion as our facilities manager, he will be retiring on April 10.
Stanley has been instrumental in making our incredible campus what it is today. He knows our campus better than anyone. From fixing what breaks, to making sure our classrooms have the furniture they need, to special projects like our beautiful outdoor Christmas tree and industrial stuffer that makes sausage-making for Wurstbraten go faster and easier than ever, Stanley has been behind it all. He and his wonderful wife Audrey have been - and will continue to be - an integral part of so much that happens at Zion. They plan to still serve our beloved congregation and ministry in different ways going forward.
Please join me in offering Stanley a big THANK YOU for his ministry on Zion's staff and prayers for a blessed and joyful retirement. As his retirement gets closer, I'll share with you some information on how we plan to honor him.
Stanley, we are grateful for you and all God has done for us through you. Congratulations!
Pastor Zach

These services could be medical, employment and housing assistance, pet clinics, substance abuse treatment, and food and health items. Please consider picking up a few of these items and placing them in the collection bin in the lobby, or you can easily shop the Amazon list which will send the items straight here to Zion for collection.
