Infrared Waves
By: Erin Cox
Infrared waves: having a wavelength just greater than that of the red end of the visible light spectrum but less than that of microwaves.
Uses
- Most remote controls it is a smaller infrared wave but its still there
- infrared lamps to keep food warm
- thermal imaging
- They can also be used to detect weather
here we have an remote using infrared.
heat lamps use infrared to keep food warm
his hand is in a bag but with thermal imaging you can see through it
interesting facts
- With infrared thermal imaging you can see through almost anything like a garbage bag
- A lot of animals use infrared to see their prey like pit vipers
Above we have a picture that shows thermal imaging. As you can see most of the heat is coming out through the eyes and mouth.
Below we have a infrared picture of hurricane Katrina.
