May 2022 Newsletter
A Note from Mr. Hershey
Dear Sawnee Families,
Can you believe that we are near the end of another school year? The old saying that the days are long, but the years are short continue to be true. Whether your student has learned in a virtual setting, face-to-face setting, or both, we are so proud of the progress we have made this year. I couldn't be more proud of how hard our community has pulled together to support each other and are so incredibly grateful for our partnership.
During our last faculty meeting and on the morning news, we have been encouraging our staff and students to utilize each day to finish the school year out strong. Please continue to support your child by encouraging him/her to come to school every day with a great attitude to learn. We only have four weeks left and certainly want to make the most of it before heading out for summer break!
Thank you again for all of your support...we are grateful for our Sawnee Family. Let's finish the year out strong!
With much gratitude,
Derrick Hershey

Clinic News
It’s hard to believe, but it is about time for end of school medication pickup. If your child has medication in the clinic , please pick it up by May 26. Any medication left in the clinic will be disposed unless arrangements are made to keep medication in clinic. Reminders will be sent out during the last weeks of school. Also keep in mind that care plans signed by physicians need to be resubmitted yearly at the start of the school year. Summer is a great time to request the care plans from your pediatricians. It has been a pleasure taking care of your children and we wish everyone a happy and safe summer!!
Please visit our webpage here for reporting a positive Covid-19 test result and more information on Forsyth County Covid-19 guidelines.
Please continue to keep your children home with any signs of illness. If you have any questions on whether or not to send your student to school please call your nurse to discuss. Please click here for the current Covid Facts for Families. This is an excellent resource for all of our current Covid guidelines .
**Just a reminder that all medication needs to be brought to the clinic by a parent/guardian. Students are not permitted to carry medication at school per Forsyth County Policy.
