Message from Principal Reece
Dear Parents/Guardians,
I hope this letter finds you well and in good spirits. As we enter the last quarter of the school year, I wanted to take a moment to provide you with some updates and encouragement regarding your child's progress and the activities planned for the upcoming weeks.
Firstly, I want to express my gratitude for your continued support and collaboration throughout this school year. Your involvement in your child's education plays a crucial role in their academic success, and we truly appreciate your dedication.
As we approach the end of the year, it's natural for students to feel a mix of emotions ranging from excitement to nervousness. This period presents an excellent opportunity for them to reflect on their achievements and set goals for the remainder of the year. Encourage your child to maintain a positive attitude and stay focused on their academic responsibilities.
Academically, we will be covering essential topics and reviewing key concepts to ensure that students are well-prepared for the upcoming MSTEP and NWEA. Additionally, we will continue to provide support and guidance to students who may need extra assistance in certain subjects. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any concerns regarding your child's academic progress.
Apart from academics, we also have several exciting events and activities planned for the final quarter. These may include field trips, special projects, and end-of-year celebrations. These experiences not only enrich your child's learning but also create lasting memories that they will cherish for years to come.
In terms of communication, I encourage you to stay connected with us through our usual channels, whether it's via email, phone calls, or parent-teacher conferences. Clear communication between home and school is essential for your child's success, so please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
In closing, let's work together to make this final quarter a fulfilling and successful one for your child. With your continued support and encouragement, I am confident that they will finish the school year strong.
Thank you once again for entrusting us with your child's education. Let's make the most of these last few months of the school year!
Warm regards,
Morgan Reece

Community Input on Facilities Master Plan
During the March 25th BOE meeting, five options were presented for a potential district restructuring. No decisions have been made regarding next steps, as it is crucial that students and families have their voices heard regarding these options. There will be two options for families to participate in input sessions regarding a potential Facilities Master Plan:
- In-Person Input Session: April 17th 4:00-6:00pm in the EMS cafeteria
- Virtual Input Session: April 19th 1:00-2:30pm
Your voice is important, and we are looking forward to seeing you at one of these sessions. Please refer to the Eastpointe BOE meeting from 3/25 for information on the options that were presented.
Fighting and Vaping on School Grounds
Students who engage in fights on school grounds will be subject to a citation by the Eastpointe Police Department. Furthermore, students who are using or in possession of a tobacco product, or other illegal substance will also receive a citation by the Eastpointe Police Department. Please refer to https://library.municode.com/mi/eastpointe/codes/code_of_ordinances?nodeId=PTIICOOR_CH28OF_ARTXOFCOUNPE for additional clarification. Pay close attention to Article VII regarding fighting on school property, and Article X for information on minors vaping.
EMS is a No Phone Zone
Students are prohibited from using phones during school hours at Eastpointe Middle School. Phones should be left in lockers, turned into the office until the end of the day, or out of sight on the person. If a student chooses to use their phone, staff will immediately confiscate it and a parent will be required to pick it up in the front office. If a student continues to use their phone during school hours, they will be placed on a phone contract and could face a suspension. Students may contact parents/guardians from the main office with a pass from class, and students may be contacted by parents/guardians via the front office as well.
