Mustang Monday Message
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We're thrilled to announce that it's time for our annual Literacy Round-Up, dedicated to promoting literacy and raising funds to sustain the technology in our classrooms (audio enhancement, iPads, and Chromebooks). Your participation helps us saddle up for success in the digital age while fostering a love for reading in our students!
To kick off the event, students will have the opportunity to collect pledges from April 12th to April 14th. It's essential for us to prioritize the safety of our students, so we encourage them to seek pledges only from family members or trusted individuals; we do not endorse door-to-door fundraising. The reading portion of the event will run from April 15th to April 21st. During this period, students will track their daily reading minutes on the provided calendar. The total minutes read will determine the amount of money pledged.
In addition to the pledge collection, we're thrilled to announce an online gift basket auction starting on April 15th, concluding on Thursday, April 18th, coinciding with the Literacy Round-Up Night. You'll receive a link via email and social media to participate in this exciting event.
We will be accepting donations online through Success Fund. Please note that we can only accept payments via Apple Pay, Venmo, Google Pay, Paypal, or credit card through this platform https://sfnd.io/meadowbrook.
Thank you for your unwavering support in making Meadow Brook Elementary a beacon of literacy and learning.
Warm regards,
Meadow Brook Elementary

Fun Science in Second Grade
Here in Ms. Harding's class, we have been having too much fun in science! We have learned about slow earth changes, including erosion and weathering, and have experimented with their effects using a dropper of water and rock hard cookies. We have tested our ability to stop weathering by trying to keep a wave from destroying our sand castles. And we have spent time becoming experts on some amazing animals! Yesterday, we sculpted those animals out of clay! All of our efforts will culminate in our Habitat Day in May where you can all come learn from us and see our amazing work! Can't wait to see you then!

Visit From The Bean Museum
Kindergarten got a special visit from the Bean Museum! We learned about what needs living things have and we even got to see a living thing up close! 🕷️

School Safety
- We kindly request your valuable assistance in teaching our students to use crosswalks. We have experienced a few close calls with young students dashing across the street without checking for cars. While we acknowledge that using crosswalks may not always be the most convenient option, your collaboration in modeling the use of crosswalks is essential to ensuring the safety of our students. Thank you for your help!
- In order to be on the playground before, during, or after school, you will need to check in at the office. This helps us keep our students safe.
Algunos recordatorios:
- Para estar en el patio de recreo antes, durante o después de la escuela, deberá registrarse en la oficina. Esto nos ayuda a mantener seguros a nuestros estudiantes.
