Together We Learn, Together We Lead!
Walled Lake Student Chromebook Return on Monday, June 7th
At the end of the school year, ALL district-provided Chromebooks must be returned. They will be inventoried, cleaned, and returned so we have our classroom carts again in the fall. If you are in need of a Chromebook for a district-sponsored summer program, opportunities will be made to check out a different machine prior to the program’s start.
To help simplify the return process, we will do a Pleasant Lake Elementary Chromebook Collection Day on Monday, June 7th. All in-person students are asked to bring in their Chromebook and charging cord to school. A representative of the district's IT department will move classroom-to-classroom inventorying and collecting Chromebooks.
After this date, opportunities will be made for you to return your borrowed Chromebook to the Educational Services Center. This later return will be made available to our My Path and Our Path students, as we understand they will need their Chromebooks until the end of the year. As I receive information about this return, I will be sure to share that information with all families.
Please note, Chromebooks not returned will be assessed a $250 fee in Skyward.

PLE Arrival & Dismissal Safety Reminders
While most of the time our families do a wonderful job of being patient and safe at arrival and dismissal, there are times when we do have drivers that make poor decisions that make the process unpleasant and possibly even dangerous for others.
If you need to be somewhere early in the morning than I recommend you consider having someone you trust drive your child to school, leave your home sooner or come up with another plan that doesn’t involve engaging in unsafe and unkind practices at your child’s elementary school.
I have asked the West Bloomfield Police Department to visit our school to ticket any vehicles engaged in any of the before mentioned behaviors. Also please note that I will also provide them with the names, contact information and even license plate numbers of any cars engaging in unsafe practices at arrival and dismissal time.
My number one goal is to ensure our children arrive to and leave school safely in a positive environment, free of rude and reckless behavior and will do everything within my power to ensure this happens on a daily basis.
Please feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions and/or concerns regarding the information I’ve shared.
Thank you,
Nayal Maktari

Our Kindergarten-4th Grade students will remain in the building. The clap out will conclude at roughly 11:10 a.m. and I respectfully ask that you leave once you have spoken with your child and taken a picture if you wish to ensure our dismissal process is not impacted.
Parents will be asked to wear masks and remain socially distant from other parents and lined up on both sides of our bus loop at the front of our school building. Our 5th graders will line up in the parking lot at the end of the 100 hallway (where 3rd-5th grade classrooms are located). 5th graders will walk through the bus loop and end the clap out at the start of the bus loop (near our mailbox).
Please park in the front of the building and along the side of the building. Please note that parking may be an issue so find a safe area that doesn’t block anyone in nor blocks any driveway. It’s a special last day for our kids but I need everyone to be flexible and patient.
You are invited to take your 5th grade child home with you at the conclusion of the clap out and can also take home any younger sibling(s).
