Transformation of Energy
Transfer of Energy
A transfer of energy is when energy moves from object to object, but does not change it's form. For example, in the video below showing Newton's Cradle, the kinetic energy from each ball transfers to the next until the final ball.

Transformation of Energy
A transformation of energy is when energy changes from one form of energy to another form of energy. For example, when a baseball is hit from a baseball player, the ball has Kinetic Energy (KE), or the energy an object has due to its motion. As it travels, the ball's height off the ground increases, or its Gravitational Potential Energy (GPE), which causes the speed of the ball to decrease. This decrease in speed is caused by the transformation of energy from KE to GPE.

Energy Chains
An energy chain is a diagram that shows the source, flow, and conservation of energy.
