Bonjour / Message from your admin. team
Welcome to the month of MARS!
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Welcome to the month of March! The daylight hours are slowly getting longer, and we have more of winter behind us than ahead of us. We are still in the midst of winter and Lent, but warmer weather and the Easter season are not too far off on the horizon.
In addition to all the learning, the school is buzzing with activity this month. Our Foire d'art oratoire/French Oratory Fair is upcoming. It's also time for student-led conferences which offer an important opportunity to discuss your child's learning progress with your child and your child's teacher. Weekly liturgies to pray as school community during the season of Lent continue, and we begin our service project for the Lenten season as well.
Please read on for details about these as well as other important events. Also, be sure to check out upcoming events on Edsby and to follow us on social media.
Peace,
M. Masich and Mme Poitras

The Journey to la Semaine Sainte/Holy Week
Our school journey to la Semaine sainte and Pâques/Easter continues with prayer during weekly liturgies, keeping our Lenten promises of sacrifice and by giving to others.
In the spirit of sharing what we have with others, we have chosen to help a local organization called Concern for Youth for our Lenten Service Project. Concern for Youth is a non-profit organization in our community aiming to support youth who struggle with homelessness and youth crime. Through this organization, the youth receive outreach and mentorship services to help them learn to make better choices for themselves and to offer them a place where they can receive the support they need.
To help support this organization in our community, we have planned two activities:
- Our annual Tournoi de roche, papier, ciseaux/Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament to be held on Wednesday, March 27th. At the end of the day of classroom, floor and school finals, one student will be declared the victor. In order to participate in this activity, we are asking for a minimum of $1 donation. Students will need to bring their money to school no later than Tuesday, March 26th.
- Our second activity is a collection of various hygiene products, school supplies, and non-perishable items. Please check the list below to see what your child’s classroom will be collecting. We will be accepting donations up to Friday, March 22nd.
Thank your help in supporting this important community organization!

As the final buzzer draws near on another thrilling basketball season, the excitement is palpable here with our EMBM boys' and girls' teams putting in stellar performances throughout the season. All eyes are now eagerly set on the upcoming tournament scheduled for Wednesday, March 6th, at the field house.
But the excitement doesn't end there! As we bid farewell to the varsity basketball season, we usher in a new wave of enthusiasm with the start of intramural basketball for grades 4 and 5. For those young athletes who signed up, this is their chance to showcase their skills and passion for the game.
Teams will soon be posted on the gym door, igniting a sense of camaraderie and friendly rivalry among classmates. Starting on Thursdays, our budding basketball stars will hit the court, ready to dribble, shoot, and score in pursuit of victory.
Intramurals offer a unique opportunity for students to not only hone their basketball skills but also to forge lasting friendships and create cherished memories that will last a lifetime. It's a chance for every participant to experience the joy of sportsmanship and healthy competition in a supportive and encouraging environment.
So mark your calendars and join us at the field house on Wednesday, March 6th, as we cheer on our teams in the tournament and kick off another thrilling season of intramural basketball. Let the March Madness begin!
