HOME AND SCHOOL ASSOCIATION
BOOKS FOR BUDDIES CHANGE DRIVE 3/11 - 3/15
This week our school is participating in a coin drive called Books For Buddies which is tied in with our book fair next week. Your small change can make a big difference. Our goal is to provide books for all!
By donating bills or loose change, you help us:
• Purchase books for students who may not be able to get a new book at the fair next week
• Add books to classroom libraries from our teacher wish bins.
• Add books to our school library giving more children easier access to books
As a small perk for our students the classroom that collects the highest overall total will receive a visit from the ice cream truck come springtime courtesy of the Mulready Home & School Association.
Please send your donation back to school with your child. A flyer with a ziploc bag should have gone home on Friday. All donations are due by this Friday, March 15th
Your act of kindness helps give students more access to books they’ll want to read! Our goal is to make sure every student goes home with a book from the fair and we thank you for helping us make that happen.

FRIDAY SCIENTISTS
This week in Friday Scientist, a girl in Mrs. Seagrave's room made Goopy Goop (Oobleck). Goopy Goop is interesting because itis only water and cornstarch. When it is mixed together, it is not a liquid or a solid. Rather, it is in suspension. When cornstarch mixes with water, the starch does not dissolve, but remains in suspension. Move the mixture slowly, and the particles slide past each other.
In Mrs. Regh's class, a girl made a Skittles rainbow. Skittles are covered with sugar and food coloring. When warm wateris poured over the Skittles, the coating dissolves and diffuses through the water.
COMMUNITY CHANGE MAKERS
As part of their social studies curriculum, the third grade welcomed Steve Santos, Hudson Recreation Department Director. Their unit is about changemakers in the community. Mr. Santos discussed how the Recreation Department brings the community together through sports, Rec Fest, and their facilities. The Recreation Department is responsible for the Morgan Bowl, Centennial Beach, the splash park, playgrounds, and fields throughout the town.
TIME TO SIGN-UP FOR HUDSON BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL
RECYCLING INK CARTRIDGES
The Kindergarten and 1st grade Girl Scouts are doing a recycling project and want to recycle your empty printer ink cartridges. A collection box will be located inside Mulready Elementary School from December to March. Their goal is to keep 200 cartridges from decaying and leaking toxins in landfills, thank you for helping them with their goal.
ABSENTEE LINE/TARDIES
Just a reminder - please be sure to call your child out when they will not be in school. (978) 567-6170. You can leave a message on the absentee line. Also, if your child enters the building late, after 8:35 am, he/she should have a parent with them to sign them in. Thank you!
LABEL LUNCH BOXES AND CLOTHING
Please label your child's belongings. That way we can be sure that the items get back to their owners.
Also, if your child is missing clothing or a backpack or lunchbox, feel free to stop by and check out our tables.
