Keeping Up with Comm Arts
~ March 4, 2024 ~
Hello Comm Arts Family and Friends!
Spring Break is almost here. This Wednesday, March 6th, is Professional Learning Time. Teachers will be in a meeting before school and unavailable for morning tutoring. Also Content Creators is hosting a Flea Market on Friday, March 8th from 6-9 pm. Don't forget to stop by and support our local entrepreneurs.
Students, please keep checking your grades and attendance. Grades for report cards are due March 8th. Report cards will be available on HAC by March 22nd.
Comm Arts Grade Guarantee Day
To encourage timely completion of student work and to try to prevent our teachers from being swamped with late work turned in on the last day of the marking period, Comm Arts implemented a Grade Guarantee Day for each of the first three marking periods of the year. The last Grade Guarantee Day was last Friday, March 1st.
Students can still turn in missing assignments, but a teacher may not have enough time to grade those late submitted assignments for them to be reflected on the report card. After grade submission, teachers will grade these assignments and submit grade changes for those students. However, please note that the student's report card will reflect a failing grade, affecting UIL eligibility. Grade changes do not restore that eligibility. Students would regain eligibility if passing at the next 3-week grade check.
