Welcome to the Prairie Point Panther Press!
Principal's Letter
Prairie Point Families:
Sunshine and spring weather were here throughout the week. Many of our classes were able to get outside, go for a walk, and be in the fresh air this week. I loved how some of our teachers were able to create outdoor learning spaces where students could explore and have some fun. While it is hard to believe that we have a week and a half left in the school year, this spring weather definitely makes it seem like summer is right around the corner. As we look toward the last few days of school, there are a few things that I would like to touch on.
Tuesday, May 25th
This will be our last day of in-person instruction for our Kindergarten - 5th grade students. This is also the last day of school for our Early Childhood students. We are very excited to celebrate and cheer on our 5th graders as they leave the halls of Prairie Point for the last time as a student.
Wednesday, May 26th
This is the last day of school for all Kindergarten - 5th grade students. All students will attend remote instruction from 8:40 - 11:25am.
I hope that you have a wonderful weekend. As always, Mrs. Fahey and I are here to help. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to one of us.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jennifer Groves
Principal

News from the LRC
Home and School needs your help for the 2021-2022 school year.
Below are the committees in need of committee chairs and co-chairs. Please look through them and consider volunteering!
Community Outreach - This committee focuses on helping in the community and school, including the annual district Kendall County Food Drive in the Fall.
Field Day (K-5) - A fun day of games and excitement for our students, including water balloons!
Holiday Shop - Help Organize and run this holiday event. It is a great opportunity for kids to purchase gifts for the families
Panther Fitness Challenge - This is our annual school fundraiser, held at the beginning of the school year, to help fund most of the Home and School Organization activities and, most importantly teacher grants. Students gather monetary donations and we celebrate our success with a fun day of fitness, music and tons of school spirit.
Rewards - This committee will search for programs that reward our students for their hard work through-out the school year. Your student can earn FREE or discounted park passes, tickets to sporting events, and more (i.e. Raging Waves, Wolves tickets and Great America). They also manage marketing for Coke rewards, shop with scrip, martket day, etc.
Home and School has two board positions open so please consider volunteering.
Recording Secretary - shall keep all records of the organization, take and record minutes, prepare meeting agendas and ensure that corporate records are maintained.
Treasure - shall recieve all funds, keep an accurate record of receipts and expenditures, pays out fund, present a financial statement at every meeting and makes a full report at the end of the year.
If you have any questions or are interested in any of the open committees or board positions, please send an email to homeandschoolprairiepoint@gmail.com.
Thank you so much for your consideration.

May ART is sure to please all ages. From celebrating Mother's Day with a bouquet of spring blooms, exploring space, finding look-a-like pets/people and playing a game of paddle board, let's continue to work together to keep the kids connected to ART and to each other, virtually. Parents, please don't think of this as more remote screen time. The kids who have been drawing me with virtually already know that this is FUN creative time! Through drawing, we wake up our imaginations. We un-mute. We tell stories about our weekly pictures. We get silly and meet new ART friends. To my current ART'mates, THANK YOU for your continued loyalty to me and to ART. I am super excited to draw more amazing pictures with you in MAY. You can find the direct registration links below. If your family hasn't drawn with me virtually yet, try one class first. Your child will thank you and I will too. Only $8/class. Siblings (and adults) living in the same household draw with me for free. Choose your preferred day and time below. Zoom link will land in your inbox 30 minutes before drawing time. COME DRAW WITH ME. Artfully yours, MRS. G Youth Drawing Director Young Rembrandts Southwest Suburbs (815) 242-2259 May DRAWING CLUB REGISTRATION LINKS:
