MNPS District Update
March 2024
Metro Schools plans Community Budget Meeting April 1
The MNPS operating budget is what primarily funds our teachers, support staff, and administrators who provide for the needs and growth of our students. On Tuesday, March 26, Dr. Adrienne Battle will kick off the budget process at a Board of Education Budget Committee meeting.
MNPS will be hosting a community meeting to provide an overview of the budget, answer questions and receive feedback at the Martin Professional Development Center Monday, April 1, at 5:30 p.m.
Notice of additions to student directory information
To comply with state law, Metro Schools has updated the student information designated as Directory Information, as allowed by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), to include a student's phone number, email address and last grade completed. Directory information is considered public and can be provided upon request unless families have elected to opt-out. To opt-out, guardians can submit their request on the FERPA permissions page of the district's online Permissions portal or by completing and returning a printed permissions form to their school.
MNPS currently has a request for this additional student information, so guardians must submit their request before April 1 if they wish to opt-out of this additional information being provided for their student.
