Pride Ticket- Special Event
Thank you Marrielin for crafting the examples and Janeen for hosting the crafting event.
Morning Meeting- Greet, Share, Activity, Message
-Greeting (be creative and allude to subject you are studying, an alliteration, a juicy vocabulary word, or just a hearty welcome)
-Day and Date of the Week (maybe with a blank for the students to fill in)
-A Focus and Interactive Task (In math we are working on fractions. If 1/4 of our class wore pajamas, how many students would that be?)
- News, Reminders, and Directions
What works for you?
Classroom Management Tip- from Dr. Ross Greene
- The problem solving is collaborative, not unilateral
- The problem solving is proactive, not reactive
- Kids do well if they can
- Doing well is preferable
Could you measure emotional engagement by asking students to complete informal weekly assessments about their emotional state and to provide suggestions for what could make their experience more positive? One question could be: How sure are you that you will learn in class this week? Maybe provide 3 faces- happy, neutral, and sad. What can I do to help you learn?
