How Air Quality Effects The U.S.

Causes Of Air Pollution And Health Risks
It is important for everyone to help prevent this problem as much as possible. A big way to help this problem is by cutting down on the amount of industrial work. If less of this is being done there will be less chemicals like Lead, Sulfur Dioxide, Nitrogen Oxides, Particulate Matter in the atmosphere. It is also important to make sure you only drive when it is necessary. When driving you release bad ozone into the atmosphere. Bad ozone is considered an air pollutant, unlike good ozone which protects us from the sun's ultraviolet radiation.
Particulate Matter is is a mixture of small particles and liquid droplets. Acids, organic chemicals, metals, and soil or dust particles are all components of Particulate Matter. The sources of this pollution are from automobile exhaust, power plants, and automobile exhaust. Particulate Matter is known to be found in haze and smoke. This is dangerous to the environment because both of these contribute to global warming. It is also harmful to human, this is caused because the particles are able to do severe to the lungs and heart and can be lethal in large amounts. Some easy ways we can do to protect against Particulate Matter is by limiting the use of products that cause fumes, conserve energy at home to reduce demands on power plants, and don't burn yard waste.
