PAC Officers
We are in need of a PAC president, secretary, and treasurer. It sometimes becomes difficult to conduct the business of the PAC without officers. Please consider volunteering.

Hope School Happenings
It feels like we have flown through this year so quickly. We wanted to share some upcoming special opportunities. Rachel Pioch, KPBSD's Alaska Indigenous Education Specialist will be here on March 28th and is tentatively scheduled to arrive at 10:00 am on this date. She always the most interesting information and projects for our students. We are so happy to have her visit our school.
Alaska State Fish and Wildlife will be visiting on April 1st, from 1:30-3:00 PM to discuss Bear and Moose safety. Our students will learn in more detail the safety points the Alaska Fish and Game feels are important in communities throughout Alaska. This program will also be offered at the Bear Creek Lodge Monday, April 1st from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
The Readathon is in full swing and concludes March 29th. Our students love the readathon and our participation is always staggering for such a small school. We are very proud of our students’ commitment to reading. They are excited, competitive, and avid readers. This competition will end with prizes from community members, a pizza party, and certificates for top readers. Our students enjoy these prizes, but they enjoy reading all year long. Good luck to each of our students. If anyone chooses to be a sponsor for a student or students, please let them know.
We would like to extend a special thank you to the officers who came and visited Hope School for our 3rd Quarter ALICE Drill. Our students were very open and accepting of their visit. I think the K-9 Unit may have stolen the hearts of everyone. Thank you to the Alaska State Troopers for their commitment to safety and being a part of our ALICE drill. We look forward to working with them next year.
Knights and Arrows is an after-school event led by Mr. Jeremy McKibben. We have a flyer attached. He has planned chess and archery from 3:30 – 4:30 on the dates indicated on the flyer. Mr. McKibben will have a permission slip for the parents to complete. Please make sure you have completed a form for each person prior to attendance.
Dawn has suggested a celebratory event of some type for the last ski date of April 3rd. She is currently speaking with parents about ideas and possibilities for the afternoon following the lesson. Please feel free to contact Dawn with your ideas and suggestions. She would love to hear from you and get your input. She is available to speak with you before and after school. Please reach out to add your suggestions to the list.
