February 13 - 17, 2023
Dear families,
With Valentine's Day in a few short days, our grade will be thinking about all that we love. One thing us teachers love is seeing our students grow. Last week, we saw students overcome fears of public speaking, to present to their peers at lunch. It was remarkably brave and inspiring to many others! We saw and heard students in the audience cheering them on, making it feel like a safe environment to take a risk. Students at this age are really starting to worry more about what others think about them, so it's so refreshing when students can feel supported.
We can't wait to see all the hard work PTA put into the Valentine's Day party and to see all the parents that are able to help out. If you haven't already and would like to volunteer, fill out the sign up genius and fast pass by Monday located in Dolphin Tales.
Lastly, we hope to see you at our D.E.A.R. ( Drop Everything And Read) event on Thursday to add some minutes to your child's reading logs.
Here is an update on the race for the 1,500 Minute Reading challenge...
Belyea-5,560 total min.
LaPoint-5,340 total min.
Ransom-3,640 total min.
Gray- 3,600 total min.
Fun Fact: The total amount of minutes for a whole class to finish the challenge is approximately 27,000! That means two classes are almost a quarter of the way there!
Have a great week!
