Dear Spring Mills Families,
We are looking forward to a fun night tonight at Spring Mills! Mrs. LaPratt and Ms. Robinson have collaborated with our amazing PTA to create a fun night for our kids. Please take a look below for details. Due to space limitations, unless you have children in multiple grades, we ask that you arrive no more than 15 minutes before your child's grade level time. Hope to see you there!
We'd like to give a huge shout out to our PTA for so many things. In addition to helping with Mrs. LaPratt's and Ms. Robinson's Glow Night, they have also put together a couple of other really run things the past few weeks! We had a "guess the frogs" leap frog day, where students guessed how many frogs were in the jar. And this week, we have had Mario Land Penny Wars. Our students have had a blast in their race to the top, all while raising money for our school. Our target is to be able to purchase a pavilion/shelter for our playground with concrete floor and picnic tables, so that our students can have an outdoor classroom experience. Thank you for all you do to support this goal!
If you have stopped into the office in the past few days, you may have noticed that we have a new sign in/sign out procedure. When you enter the vestibule, there is now a desk by the camera and bell to ring in. On that desk is the student sign in/sign out sheet. In an effort to increase safety and security, and also provide some privacy to students who may be visiting the office, we are having parents sign out students in the vestibule. If you are dropping off late we will open the door for your student to come into the office. If you are picking up early we will call your child from class to meet you in the vestibule, exiting through the office. Remember to have your ID with you each and every time you visit Spring Mills. Thank you for following this small shift in procedure.
March is Reading Month is also off to a great start! We are "popping open good books" all throughout the school! The classroom doors are fantastic - staff and students have done a great job with those decorations, and the special days throughout the month are a lot of fun for students. We look forward to a great last couple of weeks before break.
Just a reminder- we have our Early Release Day on Tuesday, March 12th, and Kindergarten Orientation next week!
I hope you all have a terrific weekend.

Circle Drive Reminders - Please share with other family members who may pick up your student.
Thank you to everyone following the guidelines making the circle drive a smoother experience for your community! Please see reminder below and share these rules with other family members who may pick up your student at times.
Arrival/Dismissal - updated information
- Our building doors open at 9:10 am. Please do not drop off early, as there isn't adult supervision outside of the building. You may only use the front loop for drop off
- Upper El Centrum doors close at 9:15am If your child arrives later than this, please use the front doors of the building.
- Safety first! Drivers will need to remain in their lane until all students have been unloaded; you are not allowed to pass other cars if your children unloaded first.
- Also for safety reasons, drivers and other adults must remain in the car during pick up and drop-off. If your child requires help getting in or out of their vehicle please park in the parking lot and walk to the doors to get your child/pick your child up.
- Always have your green name sign clipped to your passenger visor during afternoon pick up - this keeps things moving quickly for the entire Spring Mills community. Please let your child's teacher or the office know if you did not receive a sign and we will send them home with your child.
- When possible, please move your child's seat to the passenger side of the vehicle. Children should not be exiting out into traffic, but rather on the curb side.
- The school day ends at 4:08 pm. Please do not arrive before 4pm. DO NOT EXIT your vehicle from the circle to meet students.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION!
