We are very proud & excited to share that a Travis tiger – Sanemi J. has been nominated by The Commission on Presidential Scholars - as a Career & Technical Education Candidate for the 2020 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program.
Sanemi was one of the 5 students nominated by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and the first to be nominated in the CTE component from Fort Bend ISD. Hereon, she will be competing with candidates from across the country & American students abroad.
Sanemi is an active member of DECA & the Symphony Orchestra at Travis High School. As a violinist, she has received multiple special honors. To name a few, she was awarded the State Outstanding Soloist medal (top 2% in Texas) and has achieved multiple superior ratings at state competitions. She plays the violin professionally at events, and had the opportunity to perform in presence of the Houston mayor and many city leaders.
As a DECA member, she recently won 3rd place internationally for her innovation, when competing at DECA’s International Career Development Conference in Orlando. Additionally, she is one of Fort Bend ISD's CTE Student Ambassadors and holds various other leadership positions at Travis.
We look forward to her future endeavors, as she has been accepted & plans to join The McCombs School of Business at UT Austin this fall.

Student Drop-off/Pick-up Request
Several parents have been observed picking up their students in the staff parking lot after school. Parents, we ask that you refrain from this practice and please pick your students up the in designated area (front circle drive). The staff lot in the rear of the building is reserved for THS staff, and having students walk and weave between vehicles to locate their parents is a practice that we cannot allow. Thank you for you cooperation.
Lending Laptop Library
Travis High School now has a lending laptop library. These laptops are available for students to check out and take home. Our goal is to help all THS students have access to the technology they need to be successful. As teachers increase the amount of learning done online, students often need consistent access to a computer outside of school. Students may now request a laptop through the THS library in order to complete school work off campus. Laptops are available at no cost for two weeks at a time. Parents must first complete the agreement forms in Skyward and then students may fill out the request form found on the THS library website. For more information, please visit the library page of the THS website. https://www.fortbendisd.com/Page/121681
