M-STEP SPRING TEST
The Department of Education, in conjunction with local schools, will administer the Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress (M-STEP) this spring. M-STEP is designed to provide a measurement of a student’s academic achievement and growth and is aligned to Michigan state standards. The results of the test are used to determine the strength of our curriculum and resources in regards to student achievement.
Teachers have been helping students become familiar with the format and rigorous expectation of M-STEP through an online practice site provided by the Michigan Department of Education. Parents are strongly encouraged to also become familiar with the robust expectations and format of M-STEP. CLICK HERE to see sample test items.
The third grade testing window is scheduled for April 8—May 17, 2024 and will be taken online using Chromebooks. Please review the schedule for Eagle Lake students below.

This week in the library, we learned about the upcoming solar eclipse. Did you know that an eclipse happens every time the orbit of the sun, moon, and Earth align, usually twice a year? That doesn’t mean they are easy to see. In fact, the next total solar eclipse won't be visible in the United States until August of 2044! The United States Navy compiles data on a number of astronomical events, including eclipses. Check it out on their website: https://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/SolarEclipses.
Happy Learning!
