Kona Ice will be during recess this Thursday! Hooray for snowcones!
Silly string wars were awesome! I do believe that I was covered from head to toe in every color by each class!
The votes are all in and I'm keeping it a secret! You will have to come to school to see me and the costume in the crosswalk! The date for this "reveal" is still to be decided!
I am completely enjoying continuing to get to know all the Riojas families. Please introduce yourself if you are here at school so I can keep learning your names.
I hope to see you at school sometime soon!

PTO Holiday Marketplace
The holiday marketplace is just around the corner. The kids get to shop and wrap presents for their family on Dec. 14-15. This event helps raise money for the school as well as teach the kids about money management and the joy of giving.
To make this event a huge success, we need a ton of volunteers so please sign-up and share with grandparents, neighborhood groups, parents that may have a little one starting Riojas next year, anyone that has unused vacation days at work, etc. We cannot do this without the generous help of the Riojas community.
Click here to see the Signup Genius!
Here is how it works: Items are $.50, $1, $2, $3 or $5. The average gift is about $2 but there is a large selection at each price. Each student will get an envelope the week of the marketplace that they can put money in as well as make a shopping list. We have students that buy 1-2 items and we have some that buy for a list of 10-15 family and friends. It is up to you and your shopper! Items include jewelry, tools, stuffed animals, toys, games, mugs, trinkets, etc.
This is an event that the kids look forward to each year and we are excited to make it another great experience for them. Happy Holidays!
