Lincolway's Annual Art Show - So Much Talent and Creativity!
This year, the annual Lincolnway Elementary Art Show celebrated our Lincolnway families and had artwork on display during the Book Fair on February 8th. To celebrate our families, each class created a Family Portrait Quilt inspired by Faith Ringgold's Story Quilts. Eleven Lincolnway families volunteered to create a "Family Masterpiece" artwork together at home to display for the school. Other special pieces of artwork also on display were Leaf Designs, Pop Art Food paintings, and Romero Britto inspired Heart Designs. It was great to see our students and their families enjoying the evening together!
Photos included below:
- Family Masterpiece - Showcase with a large wooden tree sculpture, was created by Callan Walker and family.

Unlocking Literary Treasures: A Scavenger Hunt Adventure with Bulldog Book Club
The Middle School Bulldog Book Club met in February to discuss The Goldfish Boy by Lisa Thompson. Lead by Ms. Jill Raudensky and Ms. Jill Striebig, students and teachers discussed the mystery, ate "fishy" snacks and mermaid punch, and participated in a "Goosechase" (which is a digital scavenger hunt) throughout the building. The winning team received fishy prizes.
The winning team pictured with their prize Swedish Fish below (L-R): Kaden Strausbaugh. Mallory Lubas, Natalie Lehman, and Mason Keinfelter.
The Bulldog Book Club meets every 1-2 months during the school year. Students are welcome to join at any time. For March, club members have a choice of two books: Escape from Chernobyl by Andy Marino and The Insignificant Events in the Life of a Cactus by Dusti Bowling.
Let's All Celebrate Our Friendships & Being Kind!
Ms. Kelsey Sersen and Ms. Courtney Munyon collaborated with LIU occupational therapists, and Ms. Karen Connolly, to host a friendship party at Lincolnway Elementary to celebrate both Valentine’s Day and Lincolnway’s character trait of the month: kindness. Students rotated through four 10-minute stations: cookie decorating, freeze dance and coloring, sensory seek-and-find, and making a card for someone. Afterwards, students took turns handing out Valentine’s and enjoying cupcakes! We are so proud of these bulldogs!
