Dear Parents,
Dear Hairgrove Families,
It’s unbelievable to see that the end of the school year arrived so quickly. I want to thank you all for the support you have shown these past nine months. We appreciate you more than you could ever know for supporting your children and the Hairgrove staff. We truly have the BEST parents!!
I would like to thank our hard-working and caring faculty and staff who have made a huge difference to our students. Their commitment is outstanding and our kids are the beneficiaries. Thank you for providing rich and engaging, well-rounded experiences for our kids and for knowing that education is about wonder and fostering curiosity, and developing social skills needed to succeed. For these, and a million other things, we are truly grateful.
Please make sure your child attends school every day until the last day of school, May 25. We have some fun activities and dress-up days planned for the last few weeks of school!
I wish you all a very happy, safe, and enjoyable summer. Please be sure to take time as a family to talk, play, and read together.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Lee
Car Riders
Morning Car Riders:
Please say your goodbyes and have your child ready to exit the passenger side of the vehicle. This will help keep the line running smoothly and efficiently.
Afternoon car riders:
Please have your car rider number displayed from the rear view mirror when you enter the parking lot and leave it hanging there until your child is safely inside of your vehicle. Having the number hanging allows it to be easily seen by all staff members and keeps the car rider line running smoothly and efficiently.
Music Notes
Hello Hairgrove Family and Friends!
It’s hard to believe this school year is coming to an end! We will be closing out this year in the music room reviewing all we have learned by doing some of our favorite music room songs, games, and activities. We will also be performing for our teachers this month as we show our appreciation for them and all they have done for us this year! But don’t tell them, it’s a surprise!!
I hope you all have a wonderful summer. I can’t wait to see our dolphins again in August!
Take care!
Mrs. Courtney Cruz
ART UPDATE
Everyone is welcome to the CFISD Spring Art Exhibit, Tuesday, April 25, 2023 from 6-8 P.M. at the Berry Center as we see beautiful pieces of art created by Kindergarten – 12th grade students.
Congratulations to our very own Hairgrove Dolphin artists, Mariana Pineda, Alicia Lee, Izabel Balmaceda, Zualimar Martinez and Aaron Gonzalez. I am looking forward to celebrating this evening of creativity with you!

P.E. Update
Hello Hairgrove Parents!
We are in the home stretch, and summer will be here before we know it! But before we leave, we always celebrate the end of another great year with an awesome FIELD DAY. In May, information will be sent home so that you can prepare you and your family to come and enjoy this great Hairgrove tradition. Our FIELD DAYS are station based, non-competitive, full of skill activities they have learned over the year, and so much fun! Come out and support this exciting event!
Thanks,
Coach Dyson and Coach Foster
LIBRARY UPDATE
All library books are due back the week of May 8. If your child brings home a lost book notice, please pay the lost book fine by May 12. We do not keep change in the library, so please pay for your library books with exact change in cash and I will send you a receipt.
The CFISD Mobile Library will be at the Chimney Hill Community Center once a week in the summer. The center is located at 13720 Smokey Trail and the summer hours are 6pm-8pm on the following dates:
June 6, 13, 20, 27
July 11, 18, 25
You can return mobile library books back to the mobile library on your next visit or to any CFISD library when school resumes in August.
Thank you for encouraging reading in your home! I look forward to seeing you all again in August!

NURSE POLLARD'S NEWS:
End of the Year!
I cannot believe it is already the end of the year! This has been such an AMAZING first year here at Hairgrove! I have loved getting to know all of the students, and have enjoyed the challenge of keeping them safe and healthy! Thank you for your support and patience as I transitioned into becoming a school nurse, and learned all the ins and outs. I hope everyone has a beautiful, safe and healthy summer and I look forward to seeing all the friendly faces next year!
Friendly Reminders:
* Pre-K and Kindergarten parents please continue sending a pair of clean clothes in the student's backpack in case of any accidents. The clinic is in need of pants, if you have any spare clothes or any clothes that were previously borrowed please send them or drop them off at the clinic.
* The school year is coming to a close. There are a few reminders to get us prepared for the summer as well as the next school year:
Please remember to pick up all student medications from the nurse’s office, as they will be discarded on the last day of school, no exceptions. A reminder will be sent out the week before the last day of school. The deadline to pick medication up is May 25, 2023 at 4PM.
If your child needs medication next year: Please bring doctor orders, asthma actions plans, and have pharmacy labels on medications to be given. Medications are to be dropped off by the parent/guardian and signed in, NEVER to be brought in by the student. I will start taking medications August 15, 2023.
Parents of Pre-K students going into Kinder: Make sure your student is up to date with their 4-year-old vaccines!! It is a requirement for them to have these to attend the first day of school!! Letters will be sent out as reminders if your student is not up to date. To help speed up the process please send me proof of vaccines by the end of this school year. The deadline for students to receive their teacher assignment is August 15, 2023. You can email me proof of immunization to my email Lindsey.pollard@cfisd.net .
ANY student that is not up to date with immunizations will be sent a notice, if proof of vaccines are not received by August 15, 2023, the student will not receive their teacher assignment.
CFISD requires that a student show acceptable evidence of vaccination prior to entry, attendance, or transfer to a child-care facility or public or private elementary or secondary school in Texas. For more information on Immunizations see: https://www.cfisd.net/en/parents-students/health/immunizations/
