A Message From Dr. Flowers- Principal
Dear Families,
The weather is starting to cool down, and it's important to ensure your child is dressed appropriately. Please make sure your child has a sweatshirt or coat. Please note that all students go outside, except when the temperature falls below 20 degrees with the wind chill.
Additionally, we'd like to inform you about an upcoming event hosted by our counseling department, titled "Keeping Our Kids Safe," which will be held at the high school on October 24th from 5:00 to 7:30 pm. You should have received a paper flyer with more details. The topics covered during this event are of utmost importance for parents to be aware of and understand. Even if you think your child is too young for these discussions, it's crucial to know that these issues are affecting younger kids more frequently. Statistics and data indicate that children as young as 7 are dealing with some of these topics. If you're interested in attending, please click here.
Have a great weekend!

Field Local Schools Renewal November 7, 2023- Know The Facts!
Field Schools has placed two issues on the November 7 ballot. The first is a 10.75 mill operating issue and 1 mill for permanent improvements. The second is a 7.3 mill operating issue. These issues were last passed in May of 2019 and are up for renewal. A levy renewal does not include any new millage.
Operating money pays for all aspects of the district. It pays for teachers, custodians, bus drivers, cafeteria staff, tutors, computers, textbooks, supplies, fuel, and food. That is not a complete list, but just part of what operating money pays for. The renewal of the operating issues will allow the continuation of district services and programs at current levels.
Permanent Improvement money is used for physical items / improvements with a lifespan of 5 years or more. Funds generated from passage of the Permanent Improvement levy five years ago were used to rebuild the parking lot on the main campus and fund building and grounds repairs and improvements. Going forward, permanent improvement money will be used to maintain and improve existing buildings, grounds and facilities.

PBIS CORNER
What is PBIS?
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports is an important part of the school environment to encourage positive behavior. There are clear expectations throughout the school that are taught consistently throughout the year. The four expectations promoted at Field Local Schools are:
Safe
Outstanding
Accountable
Respectful
When students do not respond to teaching of the building or classroom expectations, we will view it as an opportunity for re-teaching, not just negative consequences. Students still receive consequences for negative behavior. The goal of the consequence is to teach students so they will not repeat the negative behavior.
