Messages from the Principal...
Dear Cardinal Families,
I hope this newsletter finds you well! As the weather begins to warm up, spring athletic tryouts are coming up fast. As our winter seasons are wrapping up, many of our teams and individuals have reached championship status. Congrats to all of our winter sports teams!
We are about half way through the third marking period and parent teacher conferences are right around the corner! Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Tuesday, March 17th from 4:30-7:30pm. Parents and students have 24/7 access to their grades via Parent and StudentVue. Juniors should be preparing for the SAT, which will take place on Tuesday, April 14. Freshmen and Sophomores will be taking the PSAT that week as well.
DHS has been busy with art teacher Mr. Kelsey and his painting class creating new murals throughout our halls. The annual spring musical, The Addams Family will hold its opening night on Thursday, April 30th in the Maxine Ude Auditorium!
We are excited about all of the upcoming events and look forward to seeing you there!
As always, go cards!!

MUSIC NEWS!
Congratulations to the following students who earned a first division rating at District Solo and Ensemble sponsored by the Michigan Vocal Music Association: Joey Crowley, Clara Usealman, Gabe Ashley, Allison Gerkin, Kendra Kalfayan and Emma Parker. All students have earned a spot to perform at State Solo and Ensemble in April at Avondale High School.
Congratulations are in order for two of DHS's top vocalists. Gabe Ashley and Sophia Perrault were selected to perform with roughly 375 high school vocalists at the Michigan State Honors Choir performance back in January at the Michigan Music Conference. Their audition scores from that event earned them the privilege of being selected into a select vocal ensemble that will perform at the Michigan Youth Arts Festival in May. This is the top high school ensemble for the state: the best of the best.

Smile Program.....The Mobile Dentist
Dear Parent(s),
Great news! Our school has partnered with Smile Programs…the mobile dentists to offer in-school dental care. CLICK HERE to sign up your child today.
Even better, dental care is usually at no cost to you. All insurance is accepted including Medicaid and MIChild. A low cost self-pay option is available for those without insurance.
Convenient and comfortable
Our in-school dental program saves you time and provides a safe and comfortable place for your child to receive gentle dental care from licensed local professionals. Dental care includes a complete dental exam, x-rays, cleaning, fluoride and sealants when necessary, and in some cases, restorative care such as fillings.
Dental care for a healthy life
Children who see a dentist regularly may have fewer health issues like:
Early tooth loss due to dental decay
Gum disease
Heart disease
Impaired speech development
Help keep your child healthy, in school and learning.
