Principal's Message
March 28, 2024
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) We are at the end of Lent and the beginning of the Easter Triduum. We have been preparing for Easter, when Jesus, who showed us the ultimate example of love by being willing to die for us, displays the glory of God by coming back to life. In this time of renewal, we should take the time to be thankful for the many gifts in our lives; most notably our families.
Sr. High course completion - It is important that students work regularly in a course as opposed to attempting to condense the learning process in the final weeks of the semester. This scenario is very difficult on both the students and the teacher. To help avoid this, students who are not near or at the 50% point of their course by the end of April may be withdrawn from the course. If your child is significantly behind in a course, please help them develop a completion plan with their teacher and get a significant section done before the end of April!
You have received an email announcing that our school re-registration process is open. We encourage you to fill in the forms to be ready for next year. We have done our best to make the process as simple and efficient as we can. It is important to register as soon as possible so we can plan for the next school year, which includes staffing and resources. We want to be as prepared as possible to make 2024-25 successful for all of our students and families.
If you have any friends thinking about possibly joining the School of Hope or Hope Home Schooling, they may be interested in one of our virtual Open Houses by tuning into our Zoom info sessions. Please sign up for the open houses if you are interested in attending. A schedule for the Zoom sessions is available from our website, so people can choose a session and find out more about our school and our programs! Upcoming Zoom info sessions for this month will be Wednesday, April 10 and Thursday, April 25 with both taking place at 6:30pm.
We have a school council meeting on Thursday, April 25th at 2:45 pm. We encourage you to come and hear in more detail what is happening at our school, and to give us your input on new ideas and directions. Simply email me at scott.macdonald@ecacs16.ab.ca for a Zoom link to the meeting.

Parent Council
What is parent council?
Parent council is a group of parents representing all grade levels that provide advice and guidance to School of Hope's administration. This is a great place to hear about the great things that are happening at our school as well as providing parents with an opportunity to offer suggestions on how to make us even better. Together, we ensure that students have the best educational experience, teacher interactions and learning outcomes.
If you are interested in learning more about the parent council, please contact SOH principal Scott MacDonald. He can be reached at 1-780-853-2188 Ext 3108 or email your child's teacher.
The next parent council meeting is on Thursday, April 25th at 2:45 PM.
