Youth Services Center -Mrs. Stivers Needs Your Help:
Parents:
In the Governor’s proposed budget, many programs, including FRYSCs, are taking a 4.5% decrease this fiscal year and a 9% budget cut for the following two years. In addition, we are likely to find that the free lunch numbers have increased which would make us all have even fewer dollars for our individual allocations.
The state is asking that we send this survey link to all our parents to complete. Please take the time and complete the survey.

Ruthie Jo White:
Ruthie Jo White uses her afternoon co-op to bring joy to residents at Amber Oaks Assisted Living Facility. Ruthie calls bingo, assists with birthday parties, helps with sing-a-longs, helps with developmental activities such as balloon ball and coloring, and sometimes brings her harp to play for them. She finds it fascinating that some of the residents who struggle to remember what happened yesterday can remember every word to old songs. The residents love the comfort and companionship that a high school student brings, and Ruthie loves the residents very much. She is considering a career in Music Therapy to assist those with dementia and Alzheimer's. Way To Go Ruthie! Thank you for volunteering in our community!

We Want To Know!
Science Class in Need:
I am looking to begin a collection of old pots and pans (preferably sauce pans), spoons, measuring cups & potholders that we can use for food labs in chemistry/science (as it is not preferable to make test tube rice krispies). If you have any old supplies like this laying around, I would love to take them off your hands! Please drop off donations to Leesa Stivers or email me at Leesa.Stivers@shelby.kyschools.us if you need me to pick the items up.
Thank you.
