Theme of the Month - Respectful
Hello Artondale Families,
This month we are focusing on the theme of respectful. Other words that mean respectful are to show respect, be polite and give compliments. Our definition is to act in a way that shows you care about how your actions impact others. Classes are having discussions about being respectful and making connections to our otter expectation of show respect.
This month we are having a classroom and grade level competition to see to what class and grade level can earn the most "show respect" splash tickets.
Next month's theme: Perseverance
Splash Winners This Week!
Every day students are able to earn a splash ticket by demonstrating our schoolwide expectations of show respect, solve problems, and make good decisions. Teachers collect the splash tickets in their classrooms and then once a week we put them in our grade level buckets.
Student winners from each grade level:
Kinder - Erin, Ruth, Ezra
1st - Olivia, Benson, Olivia
2nd - Mae, Ripley, Emrey
3rd - Aliyah, Cal, Hunter
4th & 4th/5th- CJ, Eli, Ryuichi
5th - Maggie, Hadley,
Classroom winners this week: Mrs. Martinez's class and they earned a prize as a class!
Kinder Music Program

Bus Expectations
If your child rides the bus, could you please remind them of bus expectations to help our amazing bus drivers out and to make the ride to and from enjoyable for students.
- Sit down and stay in your seat (students often stand up and move to another seat while the bus is moving, this is a safety issue)
- Think about your voice level - should be a 1-2 so the person next to you can hear you but not the whole bus
- Keep hands and feet to yourself
- Chromebooks and devices should be put away in your backpack (we are noticing more students not using devices correctly).

Impact Aid Survey
Impact your child’s learning by completing the 2023-24 Federal Impact Aid survey
Please follow this link for the paper version. When the paper forms are complete, please turn them into the office at Artondale.
A quick survey that takes five minutes to fill out can generate thousands of dollars in funding for textbooks, materials, hiring staff and educators and more military student support.
It’s the 2023-24 Federal Impact Aid form, and all parents who have children enrolled in the Peninsula School District received a Parent Square message inviting them to complete the survey. Please login to your Parent Square and fill out the form.
What is the 2023 Federal Impact Aid Survey?
The Impact Aid Survey is really a brief form used by the federal government to determine whether a family is federally connected. A parent/guardian is federally connected if:
- They live in federally supported housing.
- They work on federal property.
- They are active-duty.
- They are an active full-time member of a foreign military.
The federal government collects this data from school districts and reimburses the districts thousands of dollars of lost revenue from federally connected properties.
Why is completing the form important?
We know many of our families are federally connected, and our district has the potential to receive federal funding from this grant, to provide resources to help every student succeed. Funds can be used toward the purchase of textbooks, materials, transportation, personnel and other education related expenditures, based on the number of federally-connected students enrolled in our schools.
That’s why our district asks families to complete the federal Impact Aid Survey each fall. The survey helps determine whether a student is federally connected. To complete the survey, go to your Parent Square account and click on the post, “Please complete the 2023-2024 Impact Aid Survey.” All responses will be kept confidential.
