Monthly Devotion by Pastor Craig Muhlbach
“What you sow does not come to life unless it dies” (1 Cor. 15:36)
We are getting into the “planting season.” That got me thinking about seeds. When a seed is
planted in the ground, it is very hard to tell what will grow from that seed just by looking at the
seed itself. We may be able to look at the package from which the seed came. Or we may pick
up a seed that has fallen from a tree, look at the tree, and know what kind of tree will grow from
that seed.
But what kind of bodies will we have in heaven? Unlike a seed that comes from a package or a
tree, we can’t look at a body in heaven. We will have to wait until we get there. God wants us
to know that we will have the same bodies in heaven, but they will be changed.
Have you ever dug up a seed that has been planted for several days? Sometimes seeds look
like they have totally fallen apart and rotted away. But God gives the seed that has decayed its
own body. From a little kernel of corn, he causes a whole cornstalk to grow. From a little acorn,
a mighty oak tree can grow.
Bodies that are put in the grave decay also. God wants us to know that those bodies will not
stay in those graves. He reminds us, ‘What you sow does not come to life unless it dies”.
In heaven we will have our same bodies, but we also know that God will make some glorious
and beautiful changes in us. Paul reminds us that God will take our lowly bodies and change
them to be like the glorious, resurrected body of Jesus.

Love the Hungry (Chapel Mission Quarter 4)
In May, our students will be participating in a school-wide service project where they will get hands-on experience in packing meals that will be sent all over the world in an effort to end hunger. We are looking for sponsorships to help cover costs of the meal packing event. Please contact Mrs. Lambring if interested in sponsoring this event. We will also need some extra hands on Wednesday, May 15 for packing meals. If you are interested in volunteering at this packing event please let Mrs. Lambring know! Thank you!

Lutheran SGO Donations
The Lutheran SGO is a scholarship granting organization that provides scholarships to families that mee the income requirements to help them afford the school of their choice for their children. SGOs were enacted in 2009, but have been expanded as part of the 2011 Choice Bill that features a 50-percent state tax credit for contributions made to these SGOs. The funds donated can then be distributed for families that meet income and other requirements. SGO scholarships are funded by charitable donations, not by the state. When making a donation to the SGO, you choose your school that you would like to receive the donation.
