Bayles Elementary Weekly News and Updates December 22, 2023
A Message from Principal Kennedy
Dear Bayles Families,
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! We’re concluding the exciting year of 2023 and welcoming a new year. What better way to end the year than bringing families together to celebrate. Our Winter Program on December 21 will be a joyous event that showcases our students' talents. You will not want to miss it!
It is nice to have time to travel to see family members and even nicer to stay home and rest! By the time you receive this newsletter, we will have two weeks of school left before our winter break.
This holiday season is a time to reflect on our families and on those families in our community who need support. Therefore, Bayles TAG Program decided to run a food drive again. I wanted to congratulate those who have donated food. These donations will be distributed soon.
This is also a chance to remind you that December 22nd is an Early Release day, and school will close at 12:15 PM. Please be on time to pick up your child. The bus schedule can be accessed at
Bayles Early Release Bus Schedule. In addition school will be closed from Monday, December 25th through Monday, January 8. Classes will resume Tuesday, January 9.
If you want to know what your child is learning and support their academic success, visit Family Curriculum Support. Please click here for more information.
I wish each of you a Joyful, Restful, and Peaceful Holiday Season!
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to the school at

Mental Health Minute From Narghis Moon, Counselor
Dear Bayles Families,
You might be wondering what a “Mental Health Minute” is. This year, you and I are going to take a minute each week this year to talk about how to take care of yourself and how to be the best person you can be! Today, let’s talk about what mental health is. You know what it means to be healthy – to eat right, to get exercise, and to get enough sleep, right? Did you know that your mind can also be healthy, and that you can do things to help your mind be healthy? Eating right, exercising, and sleeping are as important for your mental health as they are for your physical health, but there are other things you can do too. We will talk about what some of those things are this year during our mental health minute together, but for today I’m going to give you a quick thing to do when you are feeling upset. It’s a basic building block for good mental health and it’s as easy as taking a breath. So, let’s all do that together real quick. Breathe in through your nose as if you are smelling brownies, hold it for a second, and breath out slowly through your mouth like you’re blowing out your birthday candles. Do that a couple of times when you feel upset or worried and it will help. I promise.
Have a great week everybody and I’ll see you all after the winter break!
