Olympic Middle School
Weekly Message for March 18-March 22
Good afternoon Olympic families and staff!
What a perfect Pacific NW Spring weekend! The weather was spectacular and vitamin D was exactly what we all needed after the wet and wild winter we have had. We will have a couple of nice days this week, although it is cold in the mornings. Remember to dress in layers!
We started 3rd trimester last Thursday. Hard to believe the school year is 2/3 of the way through. Report cards for the 2nd trimester will be sent home with our students on Thursday, March 28th.
This week is our spring conference week.
- Monday is a regular day with school 8:05-2:35
- Tuesday-Friday school dismisses at 11:35
- If you did not receive information about your spring conference (postcards sent last week), please reach out to your students Homeroom teacher.
- Scholastic book fair is this week. Students will have opportunities to shop 2x during the week and families can shop when they come for conferences. Our book fair is held in our library!
- Plan to visit our parent station held in the commons during conferences.
- Coffee will be available!
- Slides of the 5th and 6th grade FLASH ED (sex ed) curriculum to be taught the end of May.
- A survey to complete for an entry into a drawing for one of two family gift baskets.
- Provide feedback about how you like to receive school communications (like this one).
- Lost and Found!
On Monday, March 18th, we will have our next PTSO (Parent, Teacher, Student Organization) meeting. The meeting begins at 5:30 and is held in our library. We highly encourage parents to attend, especially parents of our 5th grade students. Our PTSO board members will be moving up to OBJH with their 6th graders next fall and we will need to find parents to fill those vacancies! It is a wonderful way to be involved in your student's education!
Intramurals:
- Track and Field starts April 8th. Please note this update!
- Girls and Boys practice together.
- Practice will take place at SHS. Students will walk over with their coaches after school.
Let’s have a wonderful week at Olympic!
