Jackson Jaguars ROAR
Week 10: October 26 -October 30, 2020
Dear Jackson Parents/Guardians,
Title I Family Activities
All students have a new "Course" on their Schoology account. Look for the Jackson logo (as seen to the right) and complete all of the activities to have your child(ren) receive a new book of their choosing. We are hoping these activities provide new strategies for families to support students in their learning.
Once you have completed these simple activities, I will get an alert that you child(ren) can now pick out a book. Mrs. Sobecki, our Library Technology Teacher, and I will make sure that your child(ren) receives the book of their choice.
Parent/Teacher Conferences
Don't forget to sign up with your teacher for a parent/teacher conference via WebEx. Afterward, you will be able to engage in virtual family activities where students will earn a book of their choosing. Conferences will be held October 22-November 6.
**Please note that paper copies of report cards will NOT be sent home. You will be able to access students' report cards through Q Parent Connect!**
Morning/Afternoon Drop Off/Pick Up

Halloween is this Saturday. If you celebrate, but do not feel comfortable with traditional trick or treating due to COVID-19, look for different options. Some churches are having "Trunk or Treat" drive throughs. You can also carve pumpkins together, hide candy around the house for the kids to find, read scary stories, have a virtual costume party online with friends or family, or decorate Halloween cookies or cupcakes. You can also watch movies like Coco, which highlights the celebration of Día de Los Muertos. Children like to decorate, so let them make decorations for the windows or their doors. You tube is full of great videos. Pull up some old school Halloween songs and dance to ‘Thriller’ or ‘Monster Mash.'
Don’t forget: Daylights Savings Time falls on Halloween this year! Keep your routine on track by following these helpful sleep tips. (Some ideas from Kayla Bowman, M.S., M.A.Ed., Family Engagement Manager for the Kohl’s Healthy at Home initiative at Alliance for a Healthier Generation)

It has been so fun to have the students checking out books this week! Preschool – 3rd grades are coming into the library and choosing a book to take home with the “You Touch, You Take, You Try” theme. 4th and 5th graders will be placing holds in Destiny Library and receiving their requested books the next day. King Soopers Rewards Program
Dear Jackson Friends and Families,
We have created a Community Rewards program through King Soopers. The only thing we are asking is for families to link their loyalty card (King Soopers card) to the Jackson account. Then, swipe or enter the phone number associated with the card at checkout.
Funds are earned based on program participation, not dollars spent. These funds will be used with honesty and integrity to benefit all students.
Thank you in advance,

Keep Collecting those Box Tops for Education
There are 2 ways to do this:
1) As you shop in your grocery stores, look for the logo on the boxes. They do not need to be clipped. Simply scan your receipt once you download the APP to your phone. Register Jackson Elementary to receive the points. We will earn 10 cents per item. You can also see the list of products and specials they are running.
2) Send in any clipped out Box Tops you may have saved over the summer with your student to their classroom. I will collect these from each classroom.
Thanks for supporting Jackson Elementary. Every Box Top helps!
