Principal's Message
Week of March 18, 2024
Greetings Tiger Families
Parent Teacher Conferences
I would like to thank each and every one of you for taking time out of your busy schedules to attend our parent-teacher conferences. Your presence and active participation truly make a significant difference in your child's educational journey. I cannot overstate the importance of your involvement to their academic growth and development
We sincerely hope that the time spent during the conferences was fruitful and provided you with valuable insights into your child's academic progress, as well as a greater understanding of their classroom experience. Your active participation reinforces the partnership between home and school, which is crucial in creating a supportive environment for your child's growth and success.

Extra Recess for Perfect Attendance In March
This week we will celebrate all of our students that have had perfect attendance with NO TARDIES for the month of March. We had 247 Tigers with perfect attendance this month!
iReady Goal Celebrations
As promised to our students, we will celebrate those students who met their stretch goals by rewarding them with an extra recess and a Chipotle meal certificate. Those classes that met the school goal in their iReady diagnostic will also be invited to the special recess on Wednesday. We had over 100 students meet their stretch goals and five classes meeting the school goal!
Students are spected to meet individual typical growth goals each academic year. Those meeting stretch goals performed above and beyond what was expected of them. Way to goTigers!
Students who met their typical growth goals will also be recognized with a small iReady prize.

April 8-12 Literacy Week/DEAR Day
We are ready to celebrate Literacy Week and DEAR Day after Spring Break!
Georgia Brown Elementary will be celebrating Literacy the week of April 8th -12th. During that week we will celebrate reading every day with special announcements and dress up days. One of our most cherished traditions at Georgia Brown is our Drop Everything and Read day. This year our "DEAR" Day is Thursday April 11th. On this day we are celebrating reading all day long. I would like to invite you to come to our school and read a book or two to one of our classrooms.
We have reserved the morning from 8:15 am-12:00 pm to have community members, parents and grandparents read to our students. Each reading session is approximately 20 minutes. We have 23 classrooms full of students that are ready to listen.
You are welcome to indicate a particular classroom or grade level to read to. Feel free to bring your favorite read aloud book or I can help you select a book from our school library.
If you are interested in reading for our DEAR day, please send an email to Mrs. Cagliero, our librarian, with a time that works best for you between 8:15 and 12:00pm. tcagliiero@pasoschools.org
Thank you and Happy Reading,
Tracy Cagliero
