Forgiveness
This term we have a focus on loving and our core value of forgiveness.
We will be exploring how Matthew's Gospel teaches us about Jesus making it clear that in order to be forgiven, humans must forgive others. The Spiritual Council have started work on developing the chapel to help children and adults to reflect on what it means to be loving and show forgiveness.
School Update
Welcome back to our final term of the year. We have lots of exciting activities and experiences planned for the children over the next couple of months.
School Uniform
Please can we remind parents and carers that children should wear black shoes to school. They can bring suitable trainers for PE.
If children wear earrings they should be stud earrings and these should be either removed or covered for PE.
Covid Updates
Now that free testing has been withdrawn by the government it is difficult to know if children have COVID when displaying symptoms.
North Yorkshire Public Health Team have provided the following guidance with regards to children who display symptoms of a respiratory infection.
- Children with mild symptoms such as a runny nose, sore throat, or mild cough, who are otherwise well, can continue to attend their education or childcare setting.
- Children and young people who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home and where possible avoid contact with other people. They can go back to education or childcare setting when they no longer have a high temperature and they are well enough.
- If a child or young person has a positive COVID-19 test result they should try to stay at home and where possible avoid contact with other people for 3 days after the day, they took the test. The risk of passing the infection on to others is much lower after 3 days, if they feel well and do not have a high temperature.
- Children and young people who usually attend an education or childcare setting and who live with someone who has a positive COVID-19 test result should continue to attend as normal.
Please do ensure that you keep in touch with school about absences.
Many thanks for your on-going support
Kind regards

Learning Beyond the Classroom
At Ripon Cathedral School we acknowledge the immense value of educational visits to children to support their holistic development.
Learning Beyond the Classroom has a vital part to play in meeting the demands of a broad and balanced curriculum, and in achieving the goal of preparing children for life beyond school.
Educational visits, residential experiences and activities in the local area of the school and school grounds are an integral part of our whole school approach.
We have developed a programme (click on the link below) that ensures that children encounter a diverse range of opportunities and experiences that support the delivery of our curriculum. It is our intent that when children leave Ripon Cathedral School that they have an understanding of themselves, with rich social capital that will help them to succeed in all aspects of our modern world.
The plan is our intended provision as COVID and other factors have meant that we have not been able to do all the activities that we would have liked. We are hopeful that the pandemic situation will improve enabling us to have our full range of opportunities on offer.
