Leader News, Links, & Information
Dear Davis Connect Families,
It's also time for our Community Council elections! We encourage parents to submit a candidate form by Sep. 20th, to run for one of the 3 open positions on our council. We hold meetings once a month (virtually for about 30 minutes). If we have more candidates than open positions, we will hold an election from September 22-30, 2023.
Does your child need a hearing screening? Special arrangements have been made for our Davis Connect online families to use the following PDF with Hearing Screenings dates and locations to schedule a screening. Parents should view the schedule and choose a school near to their home. We ask that parents call the school to confirm the screening date and then make an appointment on the scheduled day to take their child in for a free hearing screening. The third column is the Davis District audiologist that will be managing the screening. If you have any questions, please let us know.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Hello Lynx Families,
I want to say thank you! For the past few weeks, teachers have been gathering data from the beginning of year assessments and arranging students into small groups that are tailored specifically for their unique needs. This required schedule changes for many students. Thank you for being flexible as we strive to meet the individual needs of students.

Student Spotlights
Lynx Secondary Families,
Happy midterms! Watch for those to show up on myDSD for all OC, S.S., and I.S. classes (ALC and CR courses only post final grades as soon as the student finishes).
We also look forward to seeing our students and parents next Tuesday, September 19 from 3:30-7:00 PM for our virtual parent teacher conferences. Please go into myDSD to schedule an appointment with your teacher. If the times on Tuesday do not work or the schedule is full, please reach out to your teacher to make arrangements to meet on Wednesday, September 20 from 7:45-9:45 AM. We have built in some additional student conference time for the late start morning after PTCs, so that we can be sure to meet with as many as would like to.
Go Lynx!

Hello Lynx,
Can you believe Midterms are today? You have made it halfway through the first term of the year. For those individuals who love math, we are about 1/8 through the school year. Over the last few weeks you have learned many wonderful items, and it is helpful to think about how you are going to be able to remember and apply all of the wonderful information that you are learning.
Did you know that Davis Connect has an Educator’s Rising Club, a Vex Robotic Club, and even an Art Club? At Davis Connect 7-12, we have a variety of different ways to get involved with other Davis Connect Students. Take a few minutes to check out the different clubs and organizations where you can get involved with the school (https://davisconnect7-12.davis.k12.ut.us/activities/clubs).
I hope everyone has a great weekend and a great week.
Go Lynx!
