- Remain off of the phone when approaching drop-off and loading zones
- Be mindful of those directing traffic
- If you are picking up in a neighborhood, do not block driveways
- The front parking lot is reserved for parents picking up for special events (not for regular carpool drivers)

Are You Interested in Bass Fishing?
Did you know that Vestavia Hills City Schools has a bass fishing team?! Our Middle School team (LP and Pizitz) fishes as one- Vestavia Juniors. In order to join the team, two students are in a bass boat with their captain (one of the students' parent). Unfortunately, our tournament trail does not have opportunities for fishing from the shore, at this time.
So, If you have a bass boat and would like to know more, The Vestavia Hills Junior Bass Fishing Team will host an informational fishing event on March 10 at Boulder Lake in Liberty Park. We will meet at the Liberty Park Middle School gym (back carpool) at 2:50 and drive to Boulder lake at 3pm for pizza and fishing.
This is an open event with required RSVP and parents must attend with their child. It is open to rising 6th graders-8th graders and will provide great insight into what our school team looks like/how we operate and it will offer parents and anglers the opportunity to learn basics of team bass fishing, what it means to be a captain, and how this team looks/operates differently from other sports. This is designed to help you decide if the fishing team works for your family. Students (supervised by their parent) can fish on the lake, if they are interested in bringing their gear. The team will provide some shade, pizza, chips, sodas, and good company! So grab your chairs and join us from 3-6 pm.
Please confirm that you plan to attend by completing THIS google form. Checkout the flyer here.
Things to note about joining the bass fishing team:
- Bass boat ownership and documentation of liability insurance on the boat is required to participate
- Sponsorships are raised by the angler to cover association fees, tournament entry fees, and a spirit pack. However, the cost of travel/hotels, hauling/gas for the boat, food during tournament day, and fishing gear is the responsibility of the angler and family.
- Season is year round but has some flexibility in selecting dates.
**In the event of rain, informational meeting will be held in the gym. Email Bridgette Rayfield with any questions (rayfieldbl@vhcs.us).
