Cedar Grove Friday Flash
November 15, 2019
Dear Cedar Grove Families,
Thank you to our parents for attending our parent/teacher conferences. We hope that you were provided with some great information as to how your child is progressing as we end this first quarter of the school year. Please note that report cards will be coming home with your child on Wednesday, November 20.
It's also that time of year when the weather is getting colder! Please be sure your child is warmly dressed. Students will continue to go outdoors for recess if the temperature is above 32 degrees.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Mr. Derby and Mrs. German
Please continue to donate items for recycling!
We are still collecting items for our recycling program of empty containers of bath items. Your donations of recyclable bath items, such as packaging for hair and skin care, as well as cosmetics, will help our fundraising efforts. Through the end of this year, students can bring in their empty and rinsed recyclable containers and help their class possibly win a popsicle party. Cedar Grove receives a small credit for recycling these items that help fund green projects on school grounds. Students can drop off these items in Mr. Moxley's classroom, room 13.
Accepted Items for the Personal Care and Beauty Recycling Program:
1. Hair care packaging such as shampoo bottles and caps, conditioner bottles and caps, hair gel tubes and caps, hair spray bottles and triggers, and hair paste plastic jars and caps.

From the Choral Corner! 🎶
Our 4th and 5th grade Chorus has been working extremely hard since the beginning of the year learning proper breath support, diction, and singing in tune through various breathing techniques, tongue twisters, and vocal exploration. Additionally, they have been practicing diligently in learning six choral songs with intricate harmonies, melodies, and instrument parts. They are sounding beautiful already! I'm so very proud of their progress!
We are very excited for our first performance of the year! The Winter Concert will be held on Tuesday, December 10, and include our 4th and 5th grade Chorus, Advanced Orchestra and Advanced Band. Students will perform an in-school assembly that day, followed by the evening concert at Clarksburg High School at 7:00 p.m. Please be sure students arrive to the concert in the requested concert attire - white dress shirt and black pants/skirt, with dark shoes. Do not hesitate to contact me should you need any assistance finding appropriate concert attire. We can't wait to see you at our Winter Concert on Tuesday, December 10!
Take Note: Shortly after the new year, the Cedar Grove 4th and 5th grade Chorus is performing at our Cluster Concert at Hallie Wells MS along with Wilson Wims ES and Snowden Farms ES choirs. This performance will be held on Wednesday, January 8, at Hallie Wells Middle School
