Potassium is an element that's crucial for life. It is needed for the heart, kidneys, and other organs in for them to work normally. Potassium is vital for all cells, tissues and organs in the human body. It is an electrolyte (a substance that conducts electricity in the body), Many foods contain potassium, some with a high amount include banana, yogurt, fish, white beans and spinach. Discovered in 1807 by Humphry Davy, its element symbol is K. Potassium is element number 19. This means the atomic number of potassium is 19 or each potassium atom has 19 protons.
Potassium Metal
Potassium is a metal and is the seventh most abundant and makes up about 1.5 % by weight of the earth's crust. Potassium is an essential constituent for plant growth and it is found in most soils. It is also a vital element in the human diet.
