TTESS Review
Multi-layered
•Pre-Conference - You and your appraiser will discuss what you have planned to teach, the objectives, activities, assessment and so forth. This is an opportunity for you to refine what you have or make changes.
•Lesson Observation - Your appraiser will be gathering evidence as you present your lesson. He or she will be scripting/typing what you say, what student say, what you do and what students do. All of this is evidence used to determine how the lesson rates. When you receive your evaluation you may find the scripted notes included in the right-hand sidebar, and you will most likely find quotes incorporated into the written comments under the various domains/dimensions.
•Post-Conference - You and your appraiser will discuss the lesson presented. Among the questions you will most likely be asked are "How do you feel the lesson went?" "Now that you've had some time to reflect on the lesson, what would you have changed, if anything?" Of course there will be additional questions.
•Goal Setting and Professional Development - We have asked you to determine two goals for this year; one for student growth and one for personal growth. Think of these in terms of SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Timely). Consider the dimensions you want to address. Refer to the sample discussed in training. If you would like other samples, let us know and we will get some for you. These goals are due no later than October 10th. See the information below for how to enter these goals in Strive.

Yote Scholar's Day -
We will be having Yote Scholar's Day throughout the year. Our first one is scheduled for Sept. 21. We need you to have your grades in by September 19 so that we can determine who is eligible.
I have attached a flyer you may print for your classrooms or for you so that you can announce it. The idea is to encourage students to do their best now so that they are eligible to participate. We want our failure rate low.
Please be talking with each other now to determine who will remain in classes with students who need to complete work or complete additional work to bring up their grades. Some of you may be involved in training and will be unavailable to assist.
Event day Sept. 21
Istation
Istation will be used as the screener across the district for reading and math. Our BOY (beginning of year) reading window is September 4 - 14; math window is September 10 - 21.
Remember that in order to obtain an accurate assessment as possible, teachers will have to be monitoring students during their time in the lab.

Inspiring words from one of our own:
An unofficial league...but we exist...
Sometimes dragging our swords home at the end of the day...
Warriors...
Warriors with good hearts.
Don't forget...
That you're not alone.
You're never alone.
You might just be alone at your post.
But there are so many more like us.
We wake up...get ready...and we go out there and we continue to figure things out. We continue learning.
Do we make mistakes? Hell yes.
Do we sometimes not appear as a hero?
Oh, most definitely...
...and there are days where we fall..hard on our butts in overwhelming defeat...
Yes.
What is this all about anyway?
What is our job in this...unofficial league of great people?
I'll tell you. It's about what we do at our post...
Whether you're overseas in the name of our country...training at the academy for a uniform in blue...whether you're driving a delivery truck...or an ambulance...or a pizza delivery car...whether you're standing in front of a young class of hormonal students...filing their academic records...or mopping up after them...
History might be lined with the names and dates of people who are credited with discoveries, victories, and achievements... but his world is also made up of many unsung heroes.
Names and faces that we will never know.
Make eye contact.
BE someone...for someone...
If you know what I'm talking about...
Then good for you...you're one of us.
